The strong hold up those around them, no doubt about it.

I remember when I was about 25 my then girlfriend's paternal grandmother died.

Her mother was Swedish (ie unused to UK) and her father was working abroad. My girlfriend was 5 years younger than myself, so young.

I pretty much singlehandedly ended up organising the funeral etc.

Not that difficult really but occasionally we all have the chance to be a 'rock' in a sad, bad, difficult situation. :o

I thought we had discussed this. X point is mine. :D

Perhaps we ought to do a bonnie and clyde style routine. You distract the trout and I'll self scan very quickly...:rotfl:

No no nooooo!!! :D You said we could share!
Yes that's a good plan, the OH gets fed up of me sending him off to the self scan, or even making him go to Mr T's in the first place!
See you in the car park tomorrow at 7pm, I'll be eating a Special K Mint choc chip bar!

Dear me, Issyc. What a terrible day!! Days such as these put things into perspective.
A friend of mine is fond of saying "It's folk, not things, that are important".
It is so easy to forget this sometimes so thanks for the reminder :(

Well just back from a long day shopping, Went to Laura Ashley for some wallpaper, came home with 2 ceiling lights, a clock, a candlelabra, 8 rolls of wallpaper, 2 cushions, a distressed bench and a bed!!!!:eek:

Wow! That's some impressive spending. I do like some of the LA stuff, however I don't usually shop there, there's an outlet near us and they were selling OOD calendars last summer for nearly full price still

Goodness Issyc, big hugs to you, what an awful day. Deff puts a lot into perspective xx

Hoping one of you lovely people can give me some advise, I've not really followed the 'phone' chat on here as ours is fine and wasn't on the look out for a new one, however my mum's phone desparatly needs replacing and I'd love to get her a nice one ... DTD of course  can anyone recommend what to look for please? :A

My day so far - the grandchildren's other grandmother has had a heart attack and is in hospital, my husband's uncle has done something to his arm and is in hospital, my sister-in-law's mother has died, the 10 month old granddaughter is in hospital after having a fit. Nightmare.

just reading through but didnt want to ignore - hope things pick up from now! its strange how when one thing happens it seems to snowball and you think if it wasnt for bad luck you'd have none at all! hugs and stay strong
