Had forgotten about dabs. Would certainly be happy buying from them.
It calls itself a Notebook. Is this different from a Laptop?
Other opinions about this Fujitsu? Can anyone find anything better?
What are dabs like for keeping things in stock? Is this likely to still be there at this price next week?
They just sold 520 of them via their eBay Outlet in a couple of days, so let's hope the stock holds out.
I expect the build quality to be good. The specifications show a well rounded machine. It's a laptop, don't worry.0 -
Thanks bruticus.
But a "Netbook" is different, yes?
What's your take on the Fujitsu linked by TakeThis?0 -
JimmyTheWig, you say that you believe you qualify for the Student edition of MS office. By that, do you mean that one of your household is a student (school. uni or adult education)? If so Software4Students do MS Office 2010 Pro plus for £37.89 delivered.
£37.89? That's a rip off! It's only £36.26 at The Basement.....or if you are happy with just the download £33.18 from Viglen

A netbook is usually a cut down Laptop designed for portability and basic use. Most used to be 10.1" with 1.6ghz single core processors (they're getting better now), whereas a Notebook is more likely to have high specs like you'd expect in a PC.
As for the Fujitsu, I don't like the brand, they have always come across as cheap, although I have not worked with one for the best part of 7 or 8 years, so cannot solidly comment. The Specs look alright though.0 -

Am toying up with the idea of ordering it right now as it seems perfect.
Remember that you have seven working days to evaluate it, as per the DSR. If you don't like it, the worst that can happen is that you pay to post it back. Of course if it's faulty then they pay.
So don't worry about committing yourself.
I still have a chunky ten year old Fujitsu Siemens here.
Courier, if you should need one.0 -
Do you think my wife will mind getting a laptop for her birthday which I've evaluated for seven days?
In a similar vein, do you know how they come delivered? Will it be obvious from the packaging what is inside?0 -

I think it is perfectly normal to set a laptop up for someone beforehand. When is her birthday?
Usually in a sealed plastic bag. She might guess.0
