  • Gerry227 - I've been through this - we had an old style meter that ran backwards in the summer. We saved a fortune. Eventually we were 'forced' to swap to the modern digital one that doesn't go backwards. We never got a big bill. The longer you keep your old meter the better mate. Good luck.

    EDF
Just for information to other EDF customers .....
Submitted latest FIT reading on Monday and received a confirmation email almost straight away as usual.
The next step is usually an email confirming the remittance and BACS payment.
This time I have not had that email though .
I have just spoken to the EDF Green Team and they tell me that there has been a computer problem and they are currently working on a fix but it is affecting all FIT payments going through at the moment.
Anyone due to give their reading now ish may want to hang on till the end of the month.
    Hope it helps someone.

Useful, thanks. I always do wait until the end of March so that there is minimum argument about the estimation re increase in the FIT that applies from April.

I always submit readings on 31st March and the end of each quarter, daft not to if you can.

  • I had the letter from SSE a few months ago telling me not to submit my readings as they were updating payments to make everything quicker!!!
Not hearing anything by the end of Jan when I usually submit my readings I phoned SSE and was told to hang on until mid Feb when my gas and electric meter man was due and he would be taking my solar readings as well. Meter man arrived as expected a couple of weeks ago and I pointed to my export meter and said I understood he was to read that as well - 'don't know anythink about that mate' !!
Friday last I get a letter from SSE asking me to submit my readings so this morning I emailed SSE ith my current reading and get an automatic reply stating payment would be made within a quarter!!
    What progress!!

All sorted now , email received and BACS payment showing for payment into account for tomorrow.
Even with the computer problem not too bad in the end.

  • I've voted with my feet and just left SSE to go with EDF blue tarrif. I'm currently transferring my FIT to them too. I can't tolerate incompetence.
  • Reading the replies so far, I would stay miles away from SSE.

We have waited for months, not weeks, to get our cheque.

Have phoned them loads of times, they just say, there are delays, and they will send cheque out asap! But have to keep phoning them.

They say they are 'setting up' a quicker system, and because of that there will be delays to sending out cheque payments.

Our advice, stay away from SSE.

    Hi

Have they offered interest and compensation for not making the payment within the Ofgem FiT guidelines yet ??? .... Have you raised this with them yet ?? (See post, this thread 24/02) ...
