  • First reading to Eon was in February and was paid within 5 weeks, last reading was taken 2 months ago and still no payment. On contacting them they tell me I'll be paid in another 21 days, suspect it is a deliberate policy to delays payments! Perhaps I should delays paying my next bill for 85 days!

    Haven't heard much on this subject from the E.ON representative for a time. I think you can safely say E.ON are in a shambles on this one. Sort of begs the question 'how many E.ON employees does it take to change a light bulb'????
  • Hi

    Anyone else fed up with British Gas?

    I phoned them on the 23rd May to give them my solar meter reading. They said I should expect to receive my payment within 2 to 3 weeks (and to be fair, this was also the timescale in respect of my previous payments so I was not unduly concerned)

    A month passed, no payment, so another phone call - this time I was told that it can take up to 30 working days to arrive.

    30 working days was yesterday and still nothing received so I phoned them again today to be told that they had "discovered" a problem with their system, in that all readings taken on the 23rd May have failed to be processed and they only "discovered" this yesterday (probably because they were inundated with irate claimants!)

    So now I have to wait another 14 days for the payment (or it could be longer - who knows?), which of course will be by cheque so that will take a few days to clear once deposited in my bank account because they haven't got the facility to make a direct payment into my bank account.

    Anyone else had this? Is it just British Gas or are they all as bad as each other? I was thinking of switching to another payer who can do direct bank payments - how easy/difficult is this to do?

    Sent reading on 8 May and no result despite 2 emails, 2 phonecalls. Have been given excuses including Jubilee-related delay, someone issued the cheques but not sure if they were posted. Told I might get a cheque but not to cash it as they'd cancelled it. Unable to get any plausible reason for dely. Have made a formal complaint (see website for email to Rebecca Vincent), and await reply

    I'd be interested to hear what they have to say.

    If my cheque doesn't turn up by the 20th July, I will be on the phone to them again!
  • Eon are on the mend.

    Delays with payments earlier this year, but we have been told we are on the 'new' system. (Our last payment was 76 days from reading to payment.)

    Phoned in reading (new system requires this for the moment) on 6th July.

    Payment in bank today 12th July.

    Cannot fault this.

    That'd be 4 then, wouldn't it?
    1 to hold the ladder
    1 to change light bulb
    1 to manage the social networking groups
    1 to ignore their feedback

    Hang on, who's processing the FIT payments then, if they're all changing light bulbs?

    I thought this thread was an excellent idea, but with so many pages & posts found it easy to get lost, lose track of the best FiT companies and to keep a mental note of the ones to avoid.

    So recently I thought I'd do that & here it is (at least for posts 1-445!):
    • I've not counted multiple entries per person / company except where the view has changed (+>- or ->+);
    • there were a few posts where I was unclear about the company, the overall view or the concerns were about original registering - I left these out;
    • for each company I've then counted up their total positive and negative reports and sorted the list in order from the most positive (+) to the most negative (-);

    I hope this thread & this post helps someone ... has anyone taken the plunge and actually changed FiT company yet?!
