Useful to know makemman as mine arrived with them on Monday (21st) so it will be interesting to see how long that takes. I had heard they had a big backlog from December but they should be working through that now.

Hi, installation 23rd February 2012, applied to EDF for FIT the same week and today I received the contract by email with a request for the first reading. 3 months doesn't sound too bad compared to some of the horror stories I have read.
    Cheers

Wow. You should be quite pleased with that. I submitted my application to EDF on 6 December and still have not received my contract. I have chased them for it several times. My last call to them was on Monday and they said they hope to get it to me during this week. We will see....

Just to update from my last post. Paperwork received from Edf by email on Wednesday (23 May). Paperwork and first reading sent to them on Friday. I'm hoping the first FIT payment will not take too long to hit my bank account.

Dropped paperwork off with British Gas on a Saturday morning in early February and received the contract within 20-30mins by email. Completed the contract and posted it via Special Delivery and received eligibility on the Tuesday or Wednesday, can't remember which but only a couple of days.

Pain free process receiving FiT payments too. Emailed my first reading on Friday 11th May and received a cheque in the post just over a week later.

Really glad I opted for British Gas.

  • I sent my meter reading to E-ON on the 2nd April 2012 - still have not received any payment. Chased again today and they say that they are taking at least 10 days just to answer emails:( - I wonder what they would do if I made them wait for payment of my bill for over eight weeks!!!:j
  • Hello everyone :)

A quick question for you - I am with SSE on a FIT that we set up in June last year. We rang SSE at the end of March to give our quarterly FIT meter reading only to be told they have 're-hashed' their dates and to wait until the end of May ?

Anyone else heard of this ?

We have generated 780KWH since December but its been a long wait.

    Thanks

    Hello

I have made exactly that point on here myself suggesting they would cut me off if I did not pay my bill. But, it is ok for them to owe me money.

I had solar installed on 14th Feb 2012, sent application form and MCS certificate to them by registered post on 18th Feb 2012. I telephoned them the following week to check to see if they had received it, which they had. I have heard nothing from them ever since then. That is three and a half months now. I know I am not the only one who is still waiting to hear from them with regards to getting contracts up and running. Looks as if when I have the contract with them I will then get delays on payments too!!!

Supplied first FIT meter reading Feb 28th. Eon said I'd have to wait 45 days. 90 days later no money and I've submitted my next reading. Going through the formal complaint process. May hace to go to ombudsman or county court.

EDF have been very prompt to send out the reminder to submit a quarterly generation reading in June, my email arrived at 4am this morning.

At the last quarter I submitted a mid-March reading but from the posts by other EDF FiT customers it seems that payout date doesn't depend on submission date. So I'm going to wait until the end of the month to maximise generation this quarter. With the bumper latter half of March this should be a nice juicy payout (we've already generated 1054kWh since the last reading submission).

  • Just received my first FiT payment from Good Energy. :j

    System commissioned 31 January
    Meter reading made 31 March
    Payment to bank 31 May

Not too bad compared to some of the horror stories I've read here.
