when your transfer works octopus will send you a email for readings then give you a statement within hours and payment usually within a day or two
I got an email from them today in reply to the one I sent two weeks ago assuring me that they will eventually sort it all out but it's clear that this migration has been a complete failure, which is disappointing.

It's taking a little longer than you expected but it's hardly a complete failure.

Try giving them a ring (usually answered within a few minutes) or contact them by twitter, if you have a problem. Email is definitely not the fastest way with Octopus.

Yes, I've already been down the Twitter route, which seems to be the only way to get them to reply to an email promptly.

Well Octopus finally sent me a statement for my End of June generation today, which is at least correct, but they say that payment will take another 3-4 weeks!!!!! Come back Bulb, all is forgiven.

Im with octopus and they do my FIT payment i usually get a statement within a few hours of giving them a reading and payment with 2 days sometimes hours . Its probably just trying to migrate thousands of new customers on to their platform once its sorted I think you find a very efficient company.

I certainly hope so. They told me on Twitter (I'm not calling it "X"!) when I queried it that it shouldn't take as long as indicated in the email. As it stands my migrated FiT online account isn't capable of doing or showing me anything useful.

Yippee, payment finally received from Octopus yesterday, my highest ever quarterly payment and the longest I've ever had to wait.

  • I was with SSE for FIT and this was migrated to OVO which has significantly increased the time between reading and payment.

My payment for March, April and May has been 'approved' and I have yet to receive payment (it'll probably arrive before month-end).

Of course, my 3 month reading has simply been equally distributed across the months so that I'm being underpaid. eMails go unanswered. A cynic might think that they're improving their cash flow by delaying payment.
    Central Beds, 2.02kWp (9 x 225W) south facing with some morning shade, installed 2011 (£7.16/Wp). Tigo monitoring/optimisers on all panels, Growatt MIC 2000 TL-X Inverter and Solar iBoost installed 2022. (4 x 415W + 6 x 405W garden experiment connected to SunSynk 3.6 hybrid inverter & 2 x 5.3kWh SynSynk batteries) (4 x 405W panels queued to go somewhere)

I was with SSE too. My  payment for March, April and May was approved mi August but I am still waiting the payment. Not received as of 1st Sept. I phoned OVO and they said “as it takes 3 days to process check again in 3 days time”. I said what would OVO do if I still had not paid my bill from March and they stayed silent.

    They are simply awful.
  • I'm with Shell Energy for Gas & Elec. - my plan was to move to Octopus next Sep when my fixed rate contract completed. This might happen sooner as Octopus have agreed the purchase of Shell Energy. I'll be moving my FIT across then too, along with registering for SEG payments on my new DIY install.

I sent a very specific email to OVO over 2 months ago asking about changing equipment on the FIT install, and earlier this week got a bog standard email response quoting verbatim the information from their website. 2 months to reply to an email query using a standard and not useful template response is pretty poor.
