My FiT is registered with SSE (anyone considering using them - avoid).
I was on holiday when they requested my last 1/4 reading, next thing I knew I had a cheque in the post for the amount they estimated I`d generated from Apr-June.....just shy of 50 units they reckoned for my 4 kWp system. Been doing this with them for 6 years....cheeky b@stards.
3.975 kWp System, South facing, 21 degree pitch, 15 x Canadian Solar Elps, Samil Inverter, location NE Scotland (Fraserburgh) Bring on the Sun

Appreciate what you are saying. I'm registered with BG, who were my energy supplier at the time my solar panels were installed. I've changed supplier twice since, but kept my system registered with BG as it's such a faff to change over, with finding the paperwork and answering all the questions, etc. Never had any problems with payments.

I'm with Eon. Bloke came and read the meter last week. Yesterday I got an email saying it doesnt match past readings, can I POST them a photograph of the meter so they can verify. They want this by 7th September or they will have to send another person out to read again. This seems ridiculous, why on earth can't I email them a picture? Anyone else had to do this? I can't even put my own reading in online, it says its due by September 16th but theres no where for me to enter a new reading. Just seems crazy they want me to post them a picture, surely everyone emails now?

My silly sense of humour would take over. I'd take a pic, paste it into an e-mail, then photograph the computer screen and send that to them.

Reminded me of an old US story were a man sent a photo of a $100 bill to the police for a speeding fine, and they sent him a photo of handcuffs in return. He then paid up. :D

I had something similar because the meter reader made a mistake and recorded the readings from my larger system against the smaller one and v.v. So, I jumped from 7000kWh to 17000kWh and they threw a wobbly. Seemed fine though with the drop from 17000 to 7000!

The letter I received was threatening to say the least. We sorted things out on the phone but I did lodge a complaint about the tone of the letter...

Are you posting about gas and leccy readings or FIT reading? Just had an email from BG asking for my FIT reading, read the meter, posted it online and will wait for the cheque in the next few days. Never been asked for a photo of my FIT meter.

    It's for FIT reading.
I've never had to send a picture either. I will give them a call tomorrow I think, see if Inca sort over the phone.

I had the same problem with EDF in the early days - they emailed to ask me to verify the readings as they were out of the range they estimated.

I emailed a picture and they paid up.

Submitted FIT meter reading on Sunday afternoon 1st September and received my remittance email from EDF the following day, Monday 2nd September.
It can not get better than that.
Our best quarter ever, even with what was a relatively poor August generation down here in west Devon !
