  • Problems with entering quarterly FIT reading today. Apparently it is not in line with EON's expectations. I don't know why, as looking back it's within 6kWh of this quarter last year. Perhaps something to do with annual reading also due?

To Malc at EOn. Thanks for the clarification - shame I mailed the FIT team with the same query before I popped into this forum...

Last year we could enter the reading today, which was better as "done is done". I will have the reading recorded on my spreadsheet anyway but it would be helpful if we could either enter on 31 March or if you could put a note on our online accounts to make clear when and how we can enter the March readings.

A small change but it would keep us all happy and reduce the workload on your customer service collegues.

I've had feedback from EDF previously asking why my reading was out of line with their projection*. I always photograph the reading - I just sent them the picture of the meter.

    * stupid question. What can you say? Err - it's been sunny?

    Morning BornAtTheRightTime

It could be connected to the annual reading but this isn't certain. To be on the safe side, I'd double check the reading you've entered and try again. If the same message comes up, have a chat to our FIT specialists. Contact details are on our website. They'll investigate further and let you know if there's a difficulty.

    Thanks BornAtTheRightTime.

    Found this https://www.ofgem.gov.uk/publications-and-updates/feed-tariff-fit-tariff-table-1-april-2016-pv-only

So think it answers my question. New rates effective as from 1st April, with a 1.2% increase on previous rate.

Even though my next generation meter reading was not due until beginning of May, I sent EDF a reading for 31st March, so that they would not need to estimate it. Resulted in them sending me a payment for the first two months of this quarter :j

I can't remember what British Gas do for end of year readings.

However they don't want meter readings sooner than 80 something days since the last one.

    Hi manda1205

I'm sorry you're having to wait longer than usual to receive your FIT paperwork. Following a review of FIT schemes by the Government, FIT registrations were paused from 15 January to 8 February 16. During this pause, we weren't able to process any new FIT applications or applications with an MCS certificate dated on or after 15 January 16 until 8 February 16.

Applications could still be sent to us during this time but have been held until the pause ended. Welcome packs will go out after 1 April 16.

This has created a backlog that we're working through in date order. Even though you sent your paperwork before the pause, I suspect it's been caught up in this delay.

There's more information about the pause on our website and Ofgem's website.

Sorry again for the delay but hope this explains.

    Malc

1st April has come and gone, we still haven't heard anything from Eon. Funny how when a company has to pay you money they can take as long as they like, yet when you've got to pay them they want it yesterday!

Afternoon manda1205 and sorry you haven't heard from us yet. The 'FIT registrations pause' I mentioned has caused the backlog I suspected. Whilst we re-started sending FIT Welcome Packs out after 1 April 16, they didn't all go out on the same day. They'll go out gradually over the next few weeks. I'd have a chat with our FIT team (contact details on our website). They'll be able to let you know when you can expect your pack.

Sorry I wasn't clear before and hope this points you in the right direction.
