Oh it could, one of the big 6 is turning remittance email around same day and delivering BACs as fast as the banking system will allow ;)

We are with EDF, they are usually pretty quick (2-4 days for BACS payment to be in the bank) , but not this time.

Reading submitted 7 days ago, they acknowledged it, but nothing since.

Update on my lovely experience with Eon.
Since installation in December 2015, we have been backwards and forwards with trying to find out why we never heard anything from then. We were originally told our application was delayed due to the change in tariff, the April came and went, eventually in May we were told our application was never delayed due to changes as they had those sorted in first few weeks of April, in fact they'd just plain and simply lost our application! They sort it all out, we get told we need to submit reading in June. We then tried to but get told it's not in line with expected generation. Turns out someone started our application as April not December. So now we're yet again waiting for new application pack to get sorted so we can start again.
According to new pack it says reading date will be September so will likely be nearly a year before we end up getting a payment.
I have had my electric with Eon for years and they're always had excellent customer service but their cs with Fit team is pretty carp to be honest. Really not happy with them at all.

This sounds a real mess manda1205 and I'm really sorry you're having to go through this. If you haven't already, I'd raise a formal complaint. Even though it's a FIT issue, the same rules apply and you can go to the Energy Ombudsman now as it's been over 56 days since you raised this. There are more details about how we handle complaints on our website.

Sorry again for this delay manda1205.

Disappointed with Scottish Power this time, I got the letter notifying me of the payment yesterday but still no money in the bank. The money has always gone in before the letter in the past. I expected it would go in today but it didn't so now Monday at the earliest. That will be 25 days, the longest it's ever taken.

Earlier this year I bought a house with solar panels installed by the previous owner. SSE have just confirmed that they have transferred the FIT contract to me, and they took a meter reading so that they can send me the first payment. Can anyone tell me how long it takes them to process a payment?
