Since when have Tesco ever offered value across their ranges in store?
NEVER
Tesco are at the forefront of over inflated prices on essential items and the other big supermarkets just follow them.
Pick up a copy of The Sun newspaper (so called) and see on every other page an advert for Tesco, SKY, Asda alongside X Factor and celebrity tripe.
Tesco to make you skint and fat.
X Factor and The Sun to make you stupid.0 -
Yep, Tesco is as expensive (if not more expensive) as Sainsburys but without the nice shopping environment. I imagine they're going to do a big price drop on K cider soon, as it has gone up from £4.28 (the price it sells for in Asda & Morrisons) to £5.77.0

Not sure whether this is relevant, but I often buy the cheapest cheese sandwiches for my lunch. Up until recently, they were £1.05 in Tesco. In the Price Drop online, I noted that they'd gone down to £1.00. Excellent news, I thought, until I discovered that my small local store is currently selling them for £1.09. Does the Price Drop not apply to the Metro/tiny Tescos?----

Friut and veg are only reduced for 1 month, understandable as they are seasonal (in theory) - but what will happen after that?
A sainsbury spokesman said Tesco are all "Smoke and mirrors" and give with one hand whilst taking away with the other. I couldn't have put it any better myself!
It is also estimated that when they change from double points back to 1 point per pound it will save them around £360 million per year!
The price drop is a marketing ploy with no real substance - they love trying to pull the wool over our eyes and are very, very good at it.0 -
I'm getting fed up with Tesco, they are the only supermarket I can conveniently shop at yet almost everything has increased since the 'Big Price Drop' aka the con of the year. A few items I've noticed increasing in price are:
Tesco Yum-Yums, were 90p - now £1
Tesco Finest Shortbread - was 99p, now £1.19
Wrigleys Extra 5 pack - was £1.69, now £2.05
I could probably go and find countless more without too much effort, those are just some that I've noticed. This whole promotion is nothing more than a cheap trick to get themselves out of doing double clubcard points anymore :mad:0 -
Kievs DOWN to 90p from £1..but only 42% chicken.
Bigga peas UP 10p from 33p.
New Line dried chick peas in 2kg packs.,,, £2.39
Plain Natural Yogurt UP 5p to 60pence.
Cottage cheese UP 10p to 68p.
We gonna fall out Mr T.0 -
tesco own brand 6 pack crisps was £1 now £ 1.18,
pack 500g value grapes was 0.98p now £1.25.
tesco's really do think that we are all thick don't they.0 -
Tesco are so frustrating, all I want are CONSISTENT prices. Some things things I noticed this week that are back UP in price, infact more expensive than they were before the 'price drop', are -
Tesco 6pk of fruit yoghurts - Were 89p now £1.12 (they were £1.08 before the price drop)
Tesco value washing powder, 30 washes - was £1.68 now £2.56! Back to Morrisons for their own brand which is still £1.68.
Value mozzarella - was 40p now 48p
There were more things too that I can't remember the prices of now.
I know this isn't a lot individually but how much have they raised prices accross all items?
I refused to buy the above items out of principle this week and got alternative, cheaper things at Morrisons & Lidls.0 -
In the past fortnight they have bumped prices up on practically everything. Tesco Pasta Sauces were 69p, now £1.09, the highest I've ever seen them. The price drop was a big con and there is nothing cheaper than previously. All the Value goods have been bumped up as well this week.0

I wanted a couple of tins of chocs for Christmas so checked online yesterday morning at about 9.30am, they were £5 a tin.
So, off we went to get Christmas booze etc and the chocs and they had put them up to £10!!!!
I asked at c/s and the woman said she was going to get some and use her staff discount to get them for just over £4, she couldn't believe they had gone up to £10.
She did say that they will probably come back down again.
I say stuff 'em, I went down to Asda and got them for £5 (should have got them the other week when they were £4 but I would have eaten them before the 1st!).0
