Happy anniversary to the Butterflies
I am cooking scotch pancakes. It would appear there is some art to flipping them over to cook the other side. Unfortunately I don't have it!!!!!!!
My mum had a nice day, her and her friends were all drinking White wine spritzers but I was good and didn't join in.
Only one load of washing dried so off to reboot the WM. Exciting life I lead LOL

Good evening every1... x
I have had a very productive day today..
Managed to get all the cleaning done, Made a cheese & potato pie for the freezer from some old spuds that needed using up! Nipped to Mr T's whilst there I spotted a stew pack that was reduced so have made that for mine and DH's lunches this week & Got the Christmas cake cooked...
DH is at home all week so I got him to put the Curtain pole up and hung the curtain at the front door so that is another job ticked off the list.
Think we will make a start on all the patio pots tomorrow as need to get them ready for the winter plants to go in.
Just had a lovely walk down along the seafront with DH & Ds and collected lots of shells ...Really should start doing that more often!
Well done chirpychick on the no smoking :T its my 20th day since I quit :j
I too have my eye on the make do and mend book, think I may put it on my Christmas list...
I have got the eating for victory book, I love the potted cheese recipe in it, will never buy Cheese spread again I always have a jar of it in the fridge.
I also have the good ware, a book of wartime recipes.. which also has some great recipes in it.
Off to have a cuppa then a nice warm shower and a early night... xOctober grocery Challenge

Hello everybody, I've just stumbled across this and I hope you don't mind me joining in?
About me? I'm a single mother to my dd who is 5 (6 next month).
Things a bit stressful atm, have been staying with my mum for a few weeks waiting for my new house to be ready, found out today it could be another 6 weeks
I love my mum to bits but struggle 2 live in the same house as her after 6 years on my own, but hey ho i'm just concentrating on getting things moving and saving those pennies
The worst thing is I'm seen as a live in cleaner/dishwasher/ironer/chef and everything else which is difficult as I also work 10am-2.30pm weekdays and then get my dd from school and have 2 sort her out.
I have always done everything for myself and dd and will continue to do so, I have no issues helping my mum out but feel like maybe she is taking advantage. I do appreciate her letting me stay whilst I wait but I do pay her rent and feel I just can't do everything
Sorry 4 the rant, this is a lovely thread and I wouldn't want to change the mood at all xxxMarch grocery challenge 147.28 / 150.00 :j

Late one from me.
Had a lovely day out with my son in the city today,we had lunch out.
Then tonight because we were late back he bought chinese take out for the three of us. Its been ages since we have had take away.
He got everything he needed to take back to Australia on Saturday.
Plus I got treated to new slippers, woolen jumper and cardigan.
So while the men are talking football, I am just having a read on here.
Then I am going for a nice hot bath, then bed to read a book I got from the libary.
Postive thoughts and hugs to everyone.:)Taking it one day at a time0 -
Evening All.
Butterflybrain, happy anniversary to you and mr brainy
Well done to .daughtercas on the job. :j
Good luck to all our young people off to uni. I am another one who never, lived at home again after I left although tbh I was desperate to escape
Havent wanted to post much, although I am reading daily, I am a bit down in the dumps with all the sadness thats around me just now, and.was worried to let it out, iykwim? I saw OH's cousin today, she still looks completely shell-shocked, I cant believe this has happened to them, lord only knows how she feels living through it.I look at our own dear Cranky though, and how far she has come, and that cheers me a bit. She is an inspiration. My BIL is back in hospital, his stent has blocked and needs changing. Luckily its his week off chemo this week, and he is due a MRI on Monday to see if its having any effect on the tumour. Any positivity you can send his way would be appreciated, ladies.
Welcome to all our newbies, I am not always such a misery guts, honest! You will enjoy it here, we are a nice wee family of friends
Beth, glad you are on the path to recovery now you have a diagnosis. How is your daughter getting on, did they find outwhat happened yet?
Flutterby, I think I missed something, was army man from work your previous army man, and if so, why the heck aren't you going for it? Long distance is better than always wondering what if, you only get one chance at life darling. xx
OS WISE erm.:o cooking, cleaning, trying to budget to decorate the house asap, I am ashamed of how shabby it has gotten, mostly due to my lack of domestic goddessness. I have been thinking that it will be a shame for.DS1 to bring hus new friends in atm.
Speaking of DS I got an urgent CAHMS referral, saw the doc on the15th, and we see Cahms on the 29th, how fab is that? Hopefully he will get the help he deserves.
Well thats enough from me, for one night.
Take care everyone and have a big Jackieg hug.

Evening all! My alarm didn't go off this morning, so have been playing catch up all day.
really tired today, just feel a bit drained. I've had dinner, and my bath, think bed after Doc Martin is on!
We were out all day yesterday from breakfast till dinner, so having some home time for a while. I've hidden OH's pay so we can't waste it hehehe.
OS wise, WM has been on, lunches for tomorrow are made, and i've got 2 chicken breasts defrosting for tomorrow's dinner, not sure what to do with them, will decide later.
Need to hang the washing up to dry, and cut up the l/o sausages and put them in my salad for tomorrow.
Will catch up on the thread now!Annual Grocery Budget £364.00/£1500

evening!
had a bit of trouble logging on tonight so it' s late visit. (((hugs))) to those in need.
Not a lot of OS to report. DS1 visited and it was lovely to see him, like old times:) - he helped his Dad in the garden and helped me declutter some of his old belongings that he'd left behind when he moved out.
DH is now suffering with a very sore back and painful leg - must be bad because he's off to the docs tomorrow(has to be at deaths door before he ever goes there!)He says its not like his sciatica ao not sure what it is.
Off to watch Doc Martin now xDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Hugs for you jackie. If you need to chat you know where to find me xxx

JackieG - ah sadly no it's a different army man (I work with a lot of servicemen!). This is one is even lovelier, but is married sadly!(hence my man hating mood earlier!) - we are just friends, nothing has ever happened between us and wouldn't ever, but I'm just annoyed that I never meet any decent, nice single men who like me for me IYKWIM!!
. P.S. (((((hugs))))) to you x
Anyway!
I went to visit my friend's mum tonight, stayed 90mins, had a nice catch up. She did the same PGCE that I'm doing a few years back so we talked about that a lot. She is doing well all things considering. I'm glad she didn't look too ill. I was going to visit my parents after but there had been an accident on the road to theirs and traffic was backed up badly so I just went home.
