...allowed an atos "company healthcare representative"official status on mse?
atos have a record of forcing websites to close down,of being economical with the truth and all while being paid £100 million by the govt for doing something previously done by the dwp perfectly well

its a total disgrace and i suspect it will put some people off telling it as it is re:atos knowing that they maybe leaving themselves open to legal action by them

think again mse towers and withdraw this "persons"official status.

Look John I agree that ATOS want the right of opinion while clearly denying others that same right, but I believe in free speech and right of reply so I agree with the management decision, in this case to allow all factions access to this board, two wrongs don't make aright my friend. It stinks but its the very base point of a democratic forum. The fact of the matter is that they have almost certainly been slithering over all UK based websites scraping info for a long time, and will continue to do so.

If this is " true " then I honesty will have to rethink if I want to be part of MSE .. any more

Unless of course the ATOS rep will confirm what many of us already know about their corrupt systems & help those in need ..

I think it is a good thing the ATOS rep is here.

Might serve to get rid of some of the conspiracy theories. It also gives people an opportunity to get things straight from the horse's mouth.

And referring to post 3, Scargill was out for his own ends just as much as Thatcher, he cared no more for the miners than Thatcher did. The miners were just pawns in their chess game.

Unless the person is here in an official capacity, then I cannot see much point to it anyway.

One worker would not have full knowledge of every situation and how good/bad every assessor may or may not be, and, unless official, and given permission by ATOS/DWP, would not have the capacity to even respond to individual moans/complaints.

I think most us realise that, as with all things, there are some good ATOS staff/assessors/DWP workers, and there are some that should never be let loose on an unsuspecting public.:eek::mad:

Many 'health assessors' have been found to have lied, covered their backs and generally acted unprofessionally - thankfully, now more people know HOW to complain, many have paid the price by being suspended/disciplined/sacked.:beer:

However, for something costing £100 million per year, plus £50 million in appeals, there should be a higher satisfaction rate than there is.

The fact that this government have seen fit to appoint Prof Harrington to try and sort out the chaos, and unfairness of the system in place, suggests that it's not a matter of 'conspiracy' - more a matter of facts.

Hopefully MSE won't subscribe to this witch hunt. The ATOS rep has as much right to post on this forum as each and every one of us members. I think it's pretty disgraceful that the OP is trying to dictate who should and who shouldn't be allowed to post on this forum.

On an open forum, people shouldn't be making statements or assertions that cannot be supported anyway.

Perhaps by making it very clear that there IS an ATOS rep on the boards, MSE towers is hoping that people will be more careful about making libelous or defamatory remarks about an organisation, which not only protects the indivdiual but also MSE from being sued.

I'm not entirely sure what benefit an ATOS rep will have here as they'll be unable to respond to individual issues (data protection) nor defend themselves against accusations (again, cannot defend or else could identify the poster), so I understand your concerns, but banning ATOS from the forums will not stop them viewing the posts as they're probably doing this already, so what difference does it really make?

I have to agree with all the above.

I have never had any dealings with ATOS myself and understand that some people feel they've had rough justice at their hands however there's also no doubt that there are many postings about ATOS on these boards that stray well beyond personal anecdotes and into the realm of sweeping defamatory statements. One poster (and no doubt he'll read this thread at some point as it's his pet subject) happily admits to tracking down ATOS employees on Facebook to see if they are saying anything 'inappropriate' he can put in a complaint about.

Perhaps the presence of an official ATOS rep will lead to more balanced, rational debate instead of what we have now...which appears to be a small group of people engaging in highly politicised scare-mongering.
