hi....coconut milk is lovely made into rice pudding....i dont think stir fry would freeze very well....im sure it would be soggy on defrosting but someone might know better....i have just made cornflake crispies with syrup and cocoa instead of chocolate but they need to set before i can try them
i have made fishcakes for tea so we will see how that goes down....they look quite nice....also got a chicken out of the freezer for tea tomorrow.....might turn the remains into a pie with a bit of bacon and white sauce
i have found a box of blackberries in the freezer so will need to make them into something yummy.....probably a crumble as we like those
have a nice day....im off to the dentist later so fingers crossed that is reasonable...never cheap in my experience

Hi,
Spent 17.85 in Aldis and 52p in Asda on flour, have updated my sig and I've spent nearly £100:eek:, didn't realise how much everything adds up! Though I did stock up on bread, milk, pizza and cereal as dh is home on friday after 6 months away (not away in prison I hasten to add) and will be shopping for him as well as us 3, and got butter and chocolate for baking with.
I have a set amount of cash each week for shopping and whatever isn't spent by the end of the week goes into a jar to be saved for ... i'm not sure yet i just like having it there:o, probably will go towards our first family holiday next year :j0 -
Hi Car-ree
You are doing really well. I am sure it will be a super weekend for you and the kids with your hubby coming home.:):)
Keep going with the jar. When it fills up change it for notes (if you want to keep the cash in the house) or put it into a little savings account for your holiday. It all soon adds up.
Have you checked out some of the other challenges on here, eg. NSD challenge (no spend days)...make £5/£10 per day challenge. Also check out the recipe thread. You learn something everyday on here
This site is a great help and support to us all and some lovely people on here too.
take care

Hi all,
have been doing alright the last few days so quite pleased:D, just updating signature with online order for £49 from sainsbugs which came last night, luckily checked the bags before he got them off the van as it was full of nappies and baby food, since my baby is 16 i knew it was the wrong order:rotfl:.
All was okay in the end though.
Quintwins i would think your stir fry will be okay frozen, only thing I can think may turn a bit soft would be beansprouts, if my memory serves me right they lose crispness, HTH.
Just wanted to gush again that I really enjoy catching up with everyones post so thanks :T and keep chins up xMoving towards a life that is more relaxed and kinder to the environment (embracing my inner hippy:D) .:j0 -
Adding £1.61 to total...
My OH didn't eat his banana in his lunchbox yesterday...I mentally added up how many portions of fruit and veg he'd had that day and it came to a pitiful 2! That really worried me, I know he is an adult and can choose his own diet, but its my responsibility whilst I am not working and he is to provide as much nutritious food as I can..his choice to eat it or not. Its quite difficult as he doesn't like peas, raisins/dried fruit, cauliflower, apples (occasionally will have one), courgette, most beans unless in chilli, cooked peppers in quite a few things (and whole raw ones he likes but are expensive!) and any fruit/veg he does like can be expensive ones like strawberries and raspberries. I don't know what the answer is
Tonight I'm going to do Brocolli and Carrots in a cheese sauce with a side tomato salad (dressed in black pepper and olive oil) with mandarins in sugar-free jelly for desert. Banana in yoghurt as a snack later! Thats 5 portions in one evening if all goes to plan. But thats just one eveningGC2012: Nov £130.52/£125

Can I go down for £200 again this month. Haven't quite totalled last month yet, but will be about there. It's next month that will blow my budget as I do the winter Donald Russell shop and the 'apocalypse winter cupboard'
As I have been awol this might have been discussed, but does anyone else thoroughlly dislike the new mysupermarket site?GC Mar 13 £47.36/£1500 -

my hubby would turn his nose up at your tea lol, we will eat tatie and brocolli bake thohe's very bad with fruit and veg and was never made to eat it as a child or even encouraged all that much where as i love veg so we always have loads, i just wanted to suggest you bought frozen raspberrys and blueberrys and made muffins it's a nice sneaky way to get fruit in and the frozen ones aren't too bad in price maybe suggest milkshakes for breakfast you could just do banana, apple orange now fruits gonna get dear soon, and don't forget good old carrot cake

Just popping in to update - now £268.14.
I'm getting an As*a shop this afternoon, probably about £45, and then I intend to plan the rest of the month. I prefer using up to trying to work out what new stuff to buy so I quite enjoy this bit. Just remembered half-term will probably scupper me though this month.
Hope everybody's having a good week.August Shopping Challenge. 26/8. Budget £250 Spent £256.81.. £6.81 over. So £0.00 a day left.0
