I am so upset!
Came home from having dinner with my friend to find my fridge freezer had defrosted itself and the motor was buzzing and sounded knackered, my freezer was full to bursting, pork loint, haddock, salmon fillets, steak, chicken, 2 frozen ready meals, chips, mixed veg, peas, sweetcorn, various other veg, ww crumble, brread rolls, tortillas, chicken lattices, shepards pie, plus more i cant even remember.
I am so unhappy! i was doing well with my gc budget and hadnt bought anything since last week as i was gonna make some meals in batches 2mo, now all of that is wasted and i have to get a new fridge freezer, which i was thinking of getting, but didnt want this to happen, so not only do i have to shell out for a new one, i now have to spend more money to refill it!
Not only that but there is a leak in my bathroom from upstairs and i need to call ha 2mo to get it fixed, great!
Rant over, sorry guys, hope your doing well with your gcLose 28lb 3/28lb

Do you know anyone with a freezer that can store some food for you?
If you cook the meat, fish and veg up, maybe make soups from the veg, fishcakes and pies from the fish etc, most of it can be re-frozen, it just needs to have changes state (from raw to cooked).
My chest freezer gave up on me last year and pre mse, I would have thrown everything, but instead I just had one big cooking/baking session and put everything in my parents freezer, it saved me wasting a fortune and the plus side was that I had loads of home made ready meals!

Ohhhhh noooooo - why do things like this always happen when the freezer's full and not when you've run it down to defrost/restock:(And then went to the vets to collect the dog's prescription diet and repeat prescription tablets - £61.69  Glad that comes out of a different budget or we'd be living off bread and water!
PP have you priced the food / meds online?
The meds for my dog are £68/bottle from the vet ... a check up (needed every 6 months) and 3 bottles (6 months supply) would work out at £224:eek: (nearly £37/month).
A check up, prescription and buying the same amount online only costs £84 in total (£14/month) which is a huge amount of money.Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

My neighbors are lovely, but wouldnt ask them to do that, will probs cook the joint steak etc, and put it in the fridge which is thankfully still working and use as much of it as i can for a few days, its so annoying though, i'm trying to not let it get the better of me as only in the last few months started saving and have a decent amount of money, so can buy a fridge freezer, but i wouldnt say i was anywhere near comfortable, so this will make a dent in my small savings, but i stumbled on the comet auction site, so hopefully i can get a decent one at a decent price and not have to spend a great deal on one.Lose 28lb 3/28lb

Good Morning
I found out yesterday that Because I recommended a friend to my veg box scheme and she has placed an order that I will get my next box free! That will certainly help. DD has started ballet and her class is very close to a really nice butchers. I bought some shin of beef this week which was lovely. It felt good to be supporting a local company rather than buying from a supermarket.
Wishing everyone a great weekend xGC Mar 11 £437.08Apr 11 £459.26 May 11 £485.52 June 11 £423.79July 11 £409.22 Aug 11 £250.10Sept 11 £396.14Oct 11 £382.37Nov 11 £372.55Dec 11 £332.29 Jan 12 £375.19:Feb 12 £349.58Mar 12 £279.66Apr 12 £249.12May 12 £337.66/Jun 12 £362.58/Jul 12 £317.03/Aug 12 £354.02/Sept £439.72/Oct 12 £210.160 -
