  • Quick update on spends for this week. Havent done a 'proper' shop, just bought what I've needed from Lidl and MrT, hoping that hasnt worked out more expensive as sometimes it does.
Have got loads of reduced fruit and bread this week and a reduced rotisserie chicken for £1.08 which fed me and the kids once and the cats twice - not bad!:D
Overall spend since last week,is £38.73 and I think I'll need to spend another fiver tomorrow to last us till Tues when I will finally have some money! Need to keep calm about that thought and not rush out to replenish straight away or I'll be back to no money pretty quick!
  • Im up to £95.36/£150 now...eeekkk will have to plan properly next few weeks!
Learning to keep within budgets !

Back from shopping and spent £42.29 which I was happy with. Stocked up on milk, fruit, veg, sandwich meat, squash, juice, butter etc.
I did buy some of the mars bars that were on offer and some cheap rice crispies so that DD2 and I can make some mars bar cakes, but that was still a planned buy.

Liver sausage and hm coleslaw sandwiches for lunch and mini toad in the holes & veg for tea.
    Roast chicken and trimmings tomorrow.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Hi all hope everyone is keeping a tight reign on the budgets. Im finding it more expensive week on week and have tried to compensate by using MOCs just to keep on track. Today been to mr T and spent £44 and then HB spent another £12.50, this brings my October total to £146.47 with 2 weekends down. Its going to be a tight month but i want to empty my freezer ready for xmas treats so gunna try to stick to a tight meal plan. will check in next week to update signature.

Adding £6.50 to this month and £31.92 to fuel :)

Bought some milk, bread, 40p on some reduced crisps and... create your own pizza counter pizzas at Asda, 2 for £4...naughty, but a real treat and much cheaper than a pizza hut or dominos! Besides, they were absolutely gorgeous (I had a veggie one with BBQ sauce on the base mmmm) and I don't regret it at all! :rotfl::j:j:T:T:rotfl:

Checking in: £9.86 added to total [2 spends on the 5th] and 3 NSDs.

I'm off work next week [thank goodness - it's been so hectic I'm more than ready for a breather], which makes it easier to avoid just popping into shops that I'm passing for a few bits and bobs that turn into a bigger spend; on the other hand, it may be more tempting to order stuff for delivery or eat out. As I'm a bit ahead of schedule for the grocery spends: must resist these temptations :D

Just me in this evening, so I'm going to try to think of something interesting and tasty to do with the rainbow chard that's taking up half a shelf in the fridge [it'll distract me from the rest of the biscuits, anyway]. I'm thinking some kind of garlicky stir-fried pile-up, and save some leftovers for a colourful bubble and squeak in a day or two...

Keep up the great work, everyone.
Haven't done the GC since February, but a glance at the Tower of Receipts tells me I really need to get back into it... and plenty of other Challenges besides. :o
