Just looking back over my last few posts and it seems to have been a very up and down few days :(. I suppose that's probably a fair reflection of the DF journey overall, but hopefully over time there will be more ups than downs ;).

It's payday tomorrow :D and I'm also back to work after a week's leave. Not looking forward to going back - I've already had a peek at my emails and there are a few things which are going to be a pain to sort out :(. Hey ho, I'm up to it :rotfl:.

Tomorrow will be a re-set of the budgets for the month...it's nice to think we can start again at the beginning of each month!

I've just been trying to think of something good to 'define' the day, as I feel a bit low after the insurance debacle, so in true Banwa-style :o :

    Good things for today :)

    It's been a NSD :D

  • Kids have gone back to school today :D, but just before heading out, DS announced that he needs new school shoes...he only had new ones to start back in September :mad:. He goes through shoes so quickly..I'm going to have to have a rethink, but have already told him that it's DocMartins from here. He's not happy, but needs must. I can't replace his shoes every 7 weeks

7 weeks for school shoes:eek: - has he grown out of them or is he just really hard on them.

Love the "fresh start" feeling of payday

Grocery spend is going to be a tough one for me again this month already spent 20% of my monthly budget!

there will be up and down days but we're here fore the long haul and will win the DF battle :)

  • He's really hard on them, Debs. I'm convinced he plays football in them, but he swears he doesn't...hmmmm ;)

Thanks for the positive words, always needed and always welcome :)!

I've been trying to remember what needs doing today/this week:
    • renew my train ticket for a month - did this earlier (£76.80) :)
    • meal plan for the week
    • 4ldi or L1dl shop - budget = £44
    • update budget spreadsheet
    • transfer money to DD1 in Uni
    • transfer money to DM (£70 that I owe her, all repaid with this payment :))
    • check out prices of DocMarts shoes online (get OH to do this)
    • activate 4rgos voucher so we can buy a microwave (another job for OH)
    • £25 cheque (from phones) and some Av0n cash to pay into the bank
    • send insurance doc to insurers...least said....
Whoa, that's a lot, but good to have got it out of my head :D. Think it'll take the week to get through it all!

A quick update above of things that are complete from my list.

I've also just tried making a payment to the target cc, but the website was really slow and then timed out altogether :(, so will need to try again later.

We've been looking for shoes for DS and it looks like we're going to have to pay £50+ to get something that he won't wreck in five minutes.

  • We won £10 on the lottery last night, so it will be winging it's way to the target cc later today :D. I think total payment will be £135 which is a combination of minimum payment + overpayment + Av0n commission + lottery win :T. The balance should then drop below £1,000 :T:T.

    Thanks WAM :).

Transfer of £135 now done :D.

Received my T3sco vouchers yesterday - £7, which I'm going to hold onto to use for train tickets next month :) and I've just added 35p to my 0nepoll account, but got screened out of two other surveys...
