  • I don't think flash is that important at the moment, however the new CEO is making in roads with adobe and it seems silly to exclude this software. If you have an ipad or iphone or itouch I'd recommend buying Apple TV, fantastic to warch your videos, pics on a larger TV. I find that I now use my phone to capture most things so it's ideal to view later.

Tbh i hope flashplayer eventually dies out so we dont need it. Its annoying, and slows your computer down.
The only real reason i want it is mainly for the surveys i do as some require flash.
But tbh i love the ipad and i wish flash wasnt needed, even though i knew this issue before i bought it.

Flash is a pretty important aspect of internet browsing, whether we like it or not. I wish apple would man the ef up and incorporate it into their products. Rage level - rising.

Unfortunately, the main reason that Flash doesn't appear on any of Apple's iOS devices is because Adobe have yet to make Flash on any platform not suck a huge amount of resources (and in respect to portable devices, the battery life). For instance, on my Core i5 Windows 7 PC with the latest version of Flash installed, CPU usage spikes to 50% when using Flash based sites. Transfer that level of resource requirement over to a mobile device and you've got a situation where battery life suffers significantly.

Further, Flash is a proprietary product owned by Adobe. Handing over the control of media content to a single company would be akin to handing Adobe the keys to the internet. It's a very good thing that a hugely popular OS such as iOS is forcing websites to make use of open standards for their media content and wrestling control away from Adobe. Unfortunately, the availability of Flash on the Android platform is serving to slow this transition, which is a real shame. If everyone were on board, this change would happen much quicker.
  • If you want to use flash on your iPad. You can always use a remote desktop app.
As long as your computer is on, you can access it via the app, and thus have flash.
I use http://www.splashtop.com/remote - the main site has links to the app store (I think the US one).
All you need to to is install the software on your PC/Mac, set-it up, download the iPad app and link them
