  • Hi everyone. Having a very lazy day today, well actually I am wallowing a bit which is probably not advisable but I am having a major cant be bothered moment. I feel like things are getting on top of me a bit and need to shake myself out of this before it gets worse. I was up with my poorly DS three times last night which doesnt help. Anyone got any OS solutions for when life is all getting a bit too much?

Off to make a pie with leftover minced beef hotpot that we had for tea last night. DS2 is happily playing with a friend and DS1 and OH are out so the house is very quiet.

I need to get myself moving, maybe I should put on some loud music and sing along while I am doing some cooking! Might perk me up a bit.

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their Saturday.

Thank you so much for taking up your time to post the links, the first has some helpful info. The second has confirmed that I'm eating all the right food. The third has made me want to try the honey.
Once again thanks so much you're :A :T

bethebee at least you know what's wrong and hopefully the medication will work and you can get better :) Sweet potato and plantain can help cure stomach ulcers (and also are tasty and full of fibre!)

Afternoon everyone. Finally made pie and crumble for today using a mix of foraged apples, some from a crate a neighbour had left out for people to take and apples i climbed on the shed to pick from some over hanging branches! Hopefully they will be tasty. It seems like my neighbour's lucky enough to have four eating apple trees in their garden, braeburn maybe?
Other people are doing the roast dinner and I feel so on edge everytime I see them do something wrong or not my way :o I just know we will end up with soggy "roast" veg, it's my pet peeve!
I also just made a big jar of rowan berry and crab apple jelly, i think it's quite nice though it has a slightly bitter after taste maybe? But then i've never tasted jam alone before.

Yesterday me and OH were looking for a spot to sit down for some soup on our walk when we found a chunk of woods that was all sweet chestnut trees. He was like a mad squirrel, I couldn't control him and he collected 2.5kg of them in half an hour  They'll probably be eaten within a week!

    afternoon all,

i had a really laid back morning getting dressed at 1 pm BUT you need to know i decluttered big style in those morning hours!! i saw something on a thread about not buying any toiletries for the month and i thought id go through everything and sort i out. so i had put all the make up i use every day in my drawer and just the face cream im using with the things i use every day and the rest in a box under my bed so when i use up what im using then i can dive under the bed for more supplies as i like everyone else have two or three things of the same thing started!
ive tidied upstairs, hoovered, de scaled any water marks off the sinks and got the washing done but dont think its worth hanging out now so that will go on the airer and im now doing my saturday favourite - watching the omnibus of come dine with me and i will be doing my ironing so i dont feel so lazy.
take away as always on a saturday then menu planning for the following week and sorting out what shopping i need. got a result on the food front tho - my hubby fancied roast lamb instead of the roast chicken that i had planned from the freezer so he bought a lovely leg of lamb for him to cook while im at work tomorrow morning. result - still got the chicken for next week.
  • Lou nice to see you posting xx

Beth sorry to hear what you've got. I can highly recommend manuka honey. It IS expensive but it really is the dogs dangly bits when it comes to honey. You can buy it in health food shops or in Sainsbugs but the higher the grading the better it is (it will have a +5, +10,+ 15 the bigger the number the better it is)

H has committed to buying a motorbike (only 125cc) just sitting adding up the expenses this month.....we will be living on fresh air next month!!!!! So much to pay for, H's CBT test, for which he needs an armoured jacket and proper boots, DSs party tomorrow, my mums birthday, going out for a meal with them tomorrow to celebrate.......oh my!!! Actually I think we will be living on fresh air month after too.

  • Good afternoon chums beth good job you got your diagnosis sorted you poor thing I bet you feel like a washed out mop..Sorry to hear so many grumpy children about, its been a beautiful day today and the sort of autumn day I love ,just a nice bit of sun and a crisp feel to the air.Hanry apparentl when he came out said to Mum 'it was easy-peasy' what confidence for a 10 year old !Although he is in year six he is one of the youngest as his birthday is June 3rd so most of his pals are a wee bit older than him.Eldest DD popped in with a lovely cardigan she found in the sales for me £35.00 reduced to £15.00 she is a great bargain hunter in sales .me I couldn't spot a clothing bargain unless it hit me it the face ,but then I'm not a great clothes buyer and my daughters usually buy most of what I wear as I HATE clothes shopping ,in fact I'm not that keen on shopping at all.All that pushing and shoving, I'm quite happy to let them buy stuff and I reinbuse them afterwards They know what I'm like bless them.I managed to get all my ironing done and this afternoon ran a scan on my computer that I had been meaning to do for ages.
So hopefully my 'puter will purr along for a bit longer. The girls keep telling me that I should get another one as this one is 4 years old ,but as long as it does what I want I can't see the point.
Kids today think things are obsolete if they are more than a year old.At the moment they are both 'blackberried' up with their phones ,me if I can use mine to text and make a call it does me o.k. I don't need an all-singing -dancing thing just one that works when I want it.
I sound a real old meanie but I'm not really just think I'd rather spend any spare cash on something nicer like the cinema, or one of my tribe of grandchildren.
Well I'm off to have a rummage for dinner and maybe watch a bit of t.v. if I can find something interesting ,failing that i shall turn the wireless on and have a listen whilst doing some knitting .My, I do lead an exciting life don't I :):)
Have a good evening everyone whatever you are doing
    Cheers JackieO xx
  • Very jealous of all of you who have had nice weather, it's been pouring down here all day, though I have used that as an excuse for having a very lazy day :D

Lou - nice to see you posting x

I really want to make a veggie lasagne but have no lasagne sheets :( I don't want to go out to shops cos I'll end up buying crap in my hangover state! I'll buy some tomorrow. Think I'll have fajitas for tea as I have the veggie chilli in freezer so it won't take long to make.

  • Evening all

BETH hope you feel better soon now you know what you're dealing with.

I have finally got round to putting new felt on my shed roof. Feel really pleased as apart from cutting down my Japanese anemones when they stop flowering and one final lawn cut that's the garden done for the winter. Now need to concentrate on getting the inside done.

Managed to satisfy my craving for beef by having some left-over beef stew for tea. Not quite the same but it will do for now.

Off to bed for a couple of hours before I go to work.

    Have a good evening all

  • Its probably too late now but I often use wraps instead ot pasta sheets in lasagne flutterby, and cook it in a round pyrex or cake tin. X
