Interesting, given that the overdraft was instantly approved at £2000, that I can't be trusted with paying for petrol.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. So now I have the debit card, but I can't confirm it's receipt without the account number. So I phoned and they can't give out the account number over the phone, can't send a statement to show me the account number as there are no transactions. I can't do a transaction without either an account number or using the debit card, that can't be confirmed.
So I need to go back into the branch.
As for the paperwork with details of the insurance etc, they don't know why that hasn't arrived, but I would need to speak to the silver dept which is closed on Sunday's and may need me to quote the account number, that I don't have.
Shambles. And to think I opened this account to escape from being transferred to Santander.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Spoke too soon. I confirmed the receipt of debit card by text and received a text back that I would get another text when it has been activated....I'm still waiting.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Why dont you just activate the card online or via telephone banking
I thought text messaging would be quicker than registering for online banking or telephone banking - I'm a new customer to NatWest for current account banking.
A simple text message got an instant response, but it said it would text when the card was activated and that would be by 6pm yesterday - but I'm still waiting.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
