oh honey if courts are as good at telling who is telling the truth then i'd love to see my ex there. Yeah there are good and bad people in the world.

PS without my very nasty abusive ex I am free to live / dream and be a princess

I cannot doubt that as only you and he know your episode of personal circumstance. All I know is that at various levels male or female, there can be bad people out there, and sometimes it can be the person crying wolf

PS I'm not for 1 minute suggesting that is the OP or yourself

    Go to the cafcass website

You will see a link to Community Legal Services with more links to mediators and so forth in your area.

I would have a word with the cafcass person preparing the court report. I take it that they will be speaking to you and your child before the hearing and talking through options. Personally, I would avoid the expense and hassle of court proceedings at all costs and go for mediation.

I also represented myself in court (i paid for hour solicitors consultation). I worked but could not afford fees and ex didnt and got legal aid!!!
Anyway I also had child protection issues due to domestic violence, I went to court in front of judge roughly 4 times I agreed to show willing with contact centre hoping hed mess up (he did) eventually the last time I went infront of the judge he ruled in my favour over his solicitor! It can be done! Im no law student either!

As mentioned before cafcass website is good they were also involved in my case and really helped

    Good luck x x

Cafcass always get involved (or should do) Cafcass looks after the interests of children involved in family proceedings. We work with children and their families, and then advise the courts on what we consider to be in the best interests of individual children.

I know they were involved in my friends cases (they are NRPs) , I don't think CAFCASS good work should be misrepresented as a force for any kind of spite (as the csa often turns out to be) :o

It is not for you to decide , I'm sure the lad will be fine, let the courts decide, Mum does not always know best sadly, good luck with the case though.

You have no way of knowing that the child will be fine.

The point I'm making is let the courts decide via the involvment of cafcass, they work in the interest of the child(ren) not the posters on the internet. :o

Not always and certain fathers rights sites advocate lying to make the mother look bad. Cafcas have a reputation of being very pro fathers.
mortgage free by christmas 2014 owed £5,000, jan 2014 £4,170, £4,060, feb £3,818 march £3,399 30% of the way there woohoo
If you don't think you can go on look back and see how far you've come

Just as some mothers lie to make the father look bad, so that they can win the case, the system favours them, are you saying that is never true?
  • I think with all the loopholes in the law around maintenance and contact a disinterred abusive NRP has more rights and protection than an interested NRP or the RP. The RP faces sanctions if the child is not made available for contact, the NRP who fails to turn up to contact, messes everyone around and takes up the courts time has nothing done to them.
