Update on going bankrupt!

This is what I mean about keeping your chin up. The most positive post you have put on. At last you are now able to look at the future with hope rather than dread. Keep this spirit up and don't worry too much about the housing situation. Easy for me to say, but you have until May. 1 and a half months. 1 and a half months ago you were having thoughts about "ending it all" and now look at you. You are not by any means were you want to be yet but you are gradually building up hope and believe me YOU WILL GET THEIR.
There are always going to be a small minority of IDIOTS (as i like to call them) who will kick folk when they are down. Some folk will think you will be getting off easy if you declare bankrupt. But to hell with them. You are the one who has suffered the sleepless nights and all the stress and grief, and you know you ain't got off easy. Now its time to re-build and look forward to the good times.0 -
Good Luck Jumanji
I am so glad that you can see some positives in the situation slowly. As downandout said - its time to look and plan for the future. And it looks brighter for you. :cool:0 -

One more thing. Remember that if in any month, you spend less than the amount in your budget on anything, put the leftovers in a savings account for "emergencies". It will give a bit of rainy day money - and you never know when you might need it.

Other half just got offered a job. He starts on Tuesday, and will be earning £235.00 a week. With the above SOA it means that we will have £560 left to pay rent and then split between us and the OR.
Things are looking up. Don't want to get my hopes up too much but feeling a little better!
Thanks again for all your support and advice! Both of us don't know what we would have done with out it all!0 -

Jumanji, this is excellent advice from DFC
(as usual).
I hope that things continue to get better, and don't forget we are here for you

glad things are looking up for you, hopefully you will look back in 6 months time and think, yep we have come a long way. As I said previously my husband declared himself bankrupt at the beginning of feb, we still have a long way to go but the future looks alot rosier and as for haircuts etc, don't feel guilty about treating yourself. Just because you are bankrupt doesn't mean you have to forego any luxury ever again.
Hopefully we all learn huge lessons and won't make the same mistakes in the future.
Glad you seem happier.

NOt 100% certain on this but i think there is a way for you to get all your perscriptions free at the discrecion of your G.P. May be worth looking into, sorry if its of no use to you.0 -
