  • Hey!

Great news about the extra income, that's ace! And I'm with you on the Qantas matter, I'm sick of staff being able to ruin peoples holidays that they probably saved up endlessly for to be able to afford in some cases. It's wrong.

Great to hear you're doing well :)

  • Also talked about Christmas with my sister and we agreed to only buy for my nephew, and just do a secret Santa for the rest of us. So relieved as Christmas can really blow out the budget! I've already bought one present for my nephew and paid completely with Amazon vouchers I earned doing surveys. I can get the rest of my OH and my Aunty and my one secret Santa gifts using the points on my Boots card and their 3for2 offer. I booked the hotel for Christmas night months ago in the travelodge sale for £19 so my first MSE Christmas is on track! :-)

  • That's great!

I also used the travelodge sale to my advantage this week! A double room for £25 after the company xmas party and Im sharing with my colleague so £12.50 instead of a £30 cab!!

    High five!

Well I've just been sent the confirmation my new current account is set up. I'm slightly concerned over their definition of 'Main current account' and a bit worried I won't get the £100 bonus - this'd mean all this work getting it set up would be for nowt. I've had to make sure there's enough in both the old and the new account to cover all bills for the next month. Yikes. I've given my flatmate the new account number for her monthly bill payment, and updated my standing order for mine. I do love a good admin day :)

Well I've just picked up a gig with a photographer friend of mine, to go to events with her and print photos of people taken as they come in. £100 a night :) First one is on the 19th, hope there's lots more!

Just had an email from MusicMagpie to let me know they've finished checking my CD's and DVD's, they are all OK and they are sending a cheque for £48. I'll deposit this at the same time as I deposit the £100 from my market research on Tuesday.

This means that by the 21st of this month I should have £1250 in savings! :):):)

Well done on the extra cash TJ - £100 a night for printing photos is cool too.

Just wanted to ask a question about Music Magpie - can you enter a bar code in multiples or do you have to enter them individually? The reason for asking is that I have 16 CDs that are all the same - these were kept from the time I briefly managed a rock band last year, I just want rid of them but I want to earn some money considering the band got the sack by me.

I think it only lets you sell one of each CD. The reason I say this is that I accidentally entered a barcode again and it complained.

Have you tried play.com or amazon? or even good old fleabay? Music magpie doesn't pay that much, but you pay for the convenience of their offering, and you kinds think, well yeah I could get more for each disc if I sold them individually, but would I? Selling 62 CD's and DVD's individually would have taken far too long.

  • How did you find Music Magpie over the quality etc? I'm unsure with a few of ours (mainly the kids ones) that they'd refuse them, and of course not give them back.

Its the risk you've gotta take I guess. If it were me I'd be thinking, if its that badly damaged do I want it either! :)

They accepted all mine so wasn't an issue. It took them a week to test them all!

  • That's true. It's a job I need to tackle and will be good to have a clear out. All in one go is better than dribs and drabs I suppose.
