Right, so we've started to make a list of everything that's got to be paid after pay day at the end of the month.
Making a shopping list of stuff we need weekly/monthy (food etc) & we've just applied for a new joint bank account with Nationwide so we can transfer all our PD direct debtis and wages to that (away from x2 overdrafts & a visa card )
I'm feeling much more positive - but i'm a little scared i'm getting too positive.
I've got to go to work tomorrow at a different location than normal and I found myself thinking about how I can call in at the large Tesco's they have and look at the clothes etc!!!
I won't be able to spend as i've given EVERYTHING to my OH - I can't wait to a see the Doc to get my head sorted!
Thanks for al the helpsorting my life out, then my debts0 -

Have a look at freecycle.org and join your local group. Put out a post to request a free washing machine. Try not to spend on a new one if you can avoid it. Do inventories of your cupboards and plan your menus for the week ahead-that way you can use what you have already bought. When you have to go shopping for some ingredients, take a list with you and just a fiver! The old-style and recipe boards are fantastic. I have saved a fortune through being on here regularly. Admittedly I am not in debt but it would be so easy to get into it. My dh is off work sick for months(bowel cancer) and although he has sick pay at present, we were enjoying a lot of overtime previously. Hence I have tightened my belt and I am living by my new budget. I have a lightbulb moment every month-as each week goes by I tot up what is going out in respect to what is coming in. I plan to cut back more next month as we have to pay for the car insurance. Not sure what the futur holds but I am wellprepared financialy as there is just so much info on this site. Depression is such a complex problem-it affects everyone in different ways. Ive had it-it makes me tired and listless-thankfully I dont have the energy to overspend. Good luck with the doc-you will get help for it and a few weeks from now you will fell so much better. A great weight has lifted from you BH, even though your hubby feels he is now carrying it. Always better to understand the true situation though. you need to sort out all moneymatters together in future. Good luck with DMP. Chin up-you are heading in the right direction!Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0

Just wanted to check in - still waiting for all the statements to come through the door so we can have correct figures to use with cccs. I say WE, my wonderful husband is with me 100%
I've had almost panic moments when we've gone food shopping - I have to fight the urge to 'shop', not that I can, as I don't have any means of paying on me!
I've been reading up on the medication the doctor has put me on and found it interesting that it's used to help with binge eating - that describes my spending!!
I don't think I will ever be able to say THANK YOU enough to all of you that took the time to answer my post - you will never know JUST how desperate I was at the point I posted, hopefully I will never get that low again, i'm sure now I have the full support of my husband and the knowledge of this board, things will never seem as bleak again.sorting my life out, then my debts0 -
Remember that most, if not all, antidepressants take several weeks to start working.
Hope it continues to go well for both of you.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0
