MSE News: Halifax launches Premium Bond-style savings draw - is it any good?

  • If Northern Ireland legislation precludes entry from residents there, will Halifax organise a "competition" specifically from residents there as a form of compensation or do they not care about N.I. savers or customers? Why is N.I. always excluded from beneficial schemes but always included in schemes where higher charges etc are payable. We are always being told that we are as British as Finchley but are Finchley residents excluded?

If you really view taking part in a raffle is how to define a company "caring" about customers, then I think you're slightly deluded.

Here's what I posted on the previous page. Note the bit about Northern Ireland customers getting beneficial terms over mainland British customers.

"When working with three different legal systems, you cannot always treat people the same. You have to comply with the law of that particular territory. I haven't heard those in Great Britain complaining that they only get 90 days charge free when they switch a bank account, whereas those in Northern Ireland get 120 days. It works both ways."

I've transferred money from my current account over to savings to make sure I have the £5k in a qualifying savings account. Fingers crossed.

I did see on T&Cs specifically saying that if I worked for them, I wouldn't qualify. My partner does, but the savings are not in our joint account... hmm, well, chances of winning aren't that great anyways so we'll cross that bridge if we ever come to it!
    November £5 a day challenge: £223.16/£150
    December £10 a day challenge: £279.00/£310
Started comping too - no luck yet!

I'm sure I registered for this, but can't find the confirmation email. Could someone post the sender or some of the text from the email, please?

    Thanks

I was sure I registered for this when first announced but this triggered me to double check to make sure I'd had an email and I hadn't. So I've just registered again and it didn't say I was already registered so don't know what happened there.

Thank you - your post prompted me to check my phone, and they did confirm my entry by text message, but not email. Odd.
