    http://www.halifax.co.uk/savings/savers-prize-draw/

Or look on the right hand side of the front page of their web site:

    Not exactly hidden.
  • I think that the Halifax should provide a free entry route to their Northern Ireland customers. There are ways and means of doing this rather than discriminating against us.

But then they would be discriminating against the majority of customers outside NI.

It's not Halifax, it's our stupid goverment and the gambling law of 2005!

If Halifax knew NI customers were going to be exempt, they should have come up with an alternative promotion that will TREAT CUSTOMERS FAIRLY.
When working with three different legal systems, you cannot always treat people the same. You have to comply with the law of that particular territory. I haven't heard those in Great Britain complaining that they only get 90 days charge free when they switch a bank account, whereas those in Northern Ireland get 120 days. It works both ways.
NI customers already miss out on car insurance and other benefits from Halifax
I believe Northern Ireland has some very strange driver behaviours that make insuring there a completely different risk.
and this is just another nail in the coffin. Where is the incentive for people in NI to stay with Halifax?
Branch network (some banks don't even bother with that in NI). £5 a month on a current account. Credit card that you can use overseas without charges. Some half decent savings rates compared to the likes of Ulster Bank, for example.
    Total disgrace.
Talk to your politicians. Get them to change the law they passed.

It's a business that has invested in a big Belfast call centre, employing many in NI, rather than going overseas as others have done, or staying in Great Britain as they could have done.

I suspect the likes of Halifax have done more for competition in the NI banking and savings market than any of the other players there.
  • I shall sign up too since I'm planning to put even more into my Reward Websaver - shifting it from Nat West whose rates are pitiful.

Also don't forget to check if you qualify for the Halifax's extra 0.2% interest on savings accounts for current account customers and sign up for that - something else that is not automatic but well worthwhile!

Well if people will vote to be governed by the Church
"It will take, five, 10, 15 years to get back to where we need to be. But it's no longer the individual banks that are in the wrong, it's the banking industry as a whole." - Steven Cooper, head of personal and business banking at Barclays, talking to Martin Lewis

I think they've withdrawn the extra 0.20% offer since migration over to LTSB. It still stands for those who already have it until the expiry date.
