No way! It will be MUCH MUCH cheaper to divert your UK number to a US number than roaming in the US with your UK number.

Do you mean diverting calls from a UK mobile number to a foreign mobile number? I think this will be much more expensive than paying a roaming price for incoming calls.

Well, I must confess that I don't know how diverting works, but I see that with Orange it costs 40p to call USA and 70p to receive a call in USA.

However, it costs 40p to call to France and just 11.5p to receive.

    Very confusing.

When you divert tot he US number, it will cost you 40p when ever anyone calls your orange number and you answer in the US, and it will cost you whatever the us carrier charges to receive the call. May be about $0.10 or so.

So, does this mean that it is a little (not MUCH MUCH) cheaper for USA and diverting to France makes no sense?

I suspect it's more than 70p to receive a call on your Orange UK mobile in the us. Normally you do not divert directly yo a US number. You first divert to a VOIP such ad localphone, then divert your localphone to the US Number for about 2p or so.
