personally i think galaxy is 10xs better than cadburys as it is creamy! next time i am in tescos though i shall try their Ecquadorian chocolate that everyone keeps mentioning!

  • I've never really liked Cadbury's, would always have Galaxy over Dairy Milk. Dairy Milk always tasted cheaper than Galaxy, not as creamy.

Anyway, it was noticed the other day that there are no longer Galaxy Truffles in Celebrations. They have been replaced by Twix which is an absolute outrage. I expect Twix are a lot cheaper to produce than Galaxy Truffles. I would rather pay more and keep the truffles.

    I prefer galaxy to cadburys.
I don't like 'posh' chocolate, thorntons and lindt i can't eat at all. But galaxy truffles are always the ones that are left at the end of a tub of celebrations and end up getting thrown away.:p

However at easter i only like cadburys eggs, and i swap any thorntons / nestle ones i get with my childrens cadburys ones, the chocolate tastes totally different to a bar of cadburys.
  • Would just like to second Moonrakerz recommendation of Lidl's JD Gross chocolate - it's really lovely and only 99p for 125g so very MSE too :)

I bought a Dairy Milk the other day and you are correct it tasted different, much more sweet, had a Flake that tasted the same and a Twirl that also tasted "different".

Not all on same day I hasten to add...

If you think Cadburys is poor you want to try Hersheys.
Tastes and smells like vomit to me!

Hotel Chocolat has been a real eye opener for me, in taste and in price :-0! Will be strictly for special occasions.
Will have to try the Lidl one :)
Trying very hard to be frugal and OS - just plodding on and doing my best!

  • I think cadbury's chocolate has changed dramatically in the last few years - I won't touch the stuff now

If we have a tub of Celebrations at work, the Galaxy truffles are always taken first! If you have Celebrations in the future, I have found a home for them.

Bought the 70% ecuadorian one from Lidl, and despite a little powdery feeling texture at first it's flipping gorg! Thanks for the tip :)

  • we buy cadbury's most weeks especially if it's on offer as the kids eat stacks of it. I have been saying for ages there's a definite taste difference I am glad it's not just me.

Just had some caramel and the taste just isn't there anymore, very disappointing and nothing to do with production changes to Poland or reading the Daily mail (which I don't) has someone has wrongly suggested.
