Cadbury's doesn't taste the same????

Hi

Recently I've noticed that Cadbury Dairy Milk Caramel tastes completely different!

I was wondering if its just me and my taste buds have gone a bit strange:tongue: or if anyone else has noticed this?

Somehow it tastes more artificial/ more chemically than it used too.

I swear I've gone mad! LOL;)

I am a chocoholic and i havent bought Cadburys for years..

    Why?

Simply because they no longer support British jobs and have exported British plants to Poland.

They also dont produce chocolate !

    May i recommend these instead..?

    Also Tesco's own...

you wont go back to that Cadbury rubbish again..
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..
  • Yep, you are right!

Had a dairy milk a few years ago and it was so horrible that I emailed cadbury and told them! They sent me vouchers lol

I rather have a small block of Lindt, GnB or a supermarket's premium brand chocolate than a huge slab of Cadbury's DM.

    Quality over quantity.

    Tesco Ecuadorian Chocolate!

I third it! It was on offer in Tesco when I went there on Saturday, and let's just say that there's not much of the bar left...:D

Well, now I've read this thread and had a craving, the wrapper has just gone into the recyling...

In recent years, I think people's palates have become more educated in the appreciation of different types of chocolate.

In the last century, Cadburys was generally accepted as the best chocolate by a large swathe of the population that had never been exposed to much else because of wartime restrictions. Even their main competitors marketing in the UK tried to emulate a similar taste experience.

I remember in the 1950's, I worked with a man who had long experience in the confectionery business and he was always decrying Cadburys. He brought me a bar of his favourite chocolate -Peters Chocolate (now sadly no longer available) and I was amazed at the difference in the flavour.

Other people have since experienced the true taste of fine chocolate made by specialist confectioners and have become more discerning in their purchases.

Maybe Cadburys are changing their recipes to reflect this but, by so doing, are upsetting those stalwarts, of which there are millions, who still enjoy the traditional Dairy Milk taste.

I am not being critical of Cadburys - I just believe that their chocolate is just one of many flavours of confectionery, each of which will have their own following.

had a cadburys caramel last night, tasted exactly how i remember them
  • It was predicted that this would happen when Kraft bought out the Cadbury brand and began tampering with the 'recipe'. Anyone who has ever eaten oily American chocolate will recognise what's happening.

I haven't bought Cadbury products since Kraft reneged on their promise to the existing workforce and transferred production abroad.
  • it didn't realise they had done that about production. I haven't bought cadburys for ages as I no longer like the taste, i just though it was because i was older and my taste buds had changed.

I like green and blacks now, i would try the tescos choc but that would involve a nine mile drive so i might leave that for now haha
