How much sex is ok for you?

The thread "getting married next year and our sex life isn't great" got me thinking about things.

My OH and I are getting married next year and I would say he's lucky if he get's it once a week, but he seems fine with it and so do I. Obviously it's harder to do "spur the moment" with a 3year old and 1 year old. :rotfl:

So I just wondered what is the average for you lot?

Also has anyone else noticed that condoms are sooooooo expensive nowadays. I'm now on antibiotics so we want to be extra careful with no little accidents before the wedding and looking in boots it's like a tenner for 10, that's a £1 a shag! :rotfl: Would you ever buy durex off of ebay? there's 100 for £5 on there.

Condoms and all contraception are free if you go to a family plan clinic...

Normally Boots do 2 packs for a tenner when they're on offer. Also loads of websites sell them cheap

Since I got pregnant, my sex drive has nose dived, thought it may have picked up slightly but to no avail. I feel bad for my OH, but we are still close in a variety of other ways and spend a lot of time together just chilling or whatever. Usually I'd be happy with about 3/4 times a week, although he'd probably be happy with twice a day :eek: that's not realistic though, so it's a compromise I guess

You could always go to a gay bar for your condoms - they generally have loads of condoms available on a help yourself basis. We used to do this in college.

I don't think there is an average to how often my partner and I have sex. Sometimes we'll have sex seven, or more, times per week, and others it will only be once or twice.

Mates condoms were £1.75 for a pack of twelve in my local Tesco's yesterday...
Ideally everyday, would be content with every other day, that's what I get, on average.

As has been said, you can get condoms free at the family planning clinic. :-)

My husband works away so we dont see each other for upto 4 weeks at a time.
Suits me just fine as im pregnant right now and would prefer a good book and hot choccy in bed!

Before that i would say 2-3 times a week i guess, not sure. We dont keep count!

All relationships have peaks and troughs when it comes to sex life. As long as you are both happy then thats all that matters. :-)

I'd say we're 1-2 a week now, dropped down to probably once a fortnight when the children were babies and we were so exhausted, and probably was about 3-4 a week when we were first married. I can't really say I worry about it, our libidos seem to be quite in synch, and we're happy and close as a couple. TBH, we've been together about 13 years, married for 8 with two children ages 6 & 5, I reckon a couple of times a week isn't bad. I do know some couples who have virtually no sex life at all, and it does seem to affect their closeness.

I'd second that condoms can be from the FPC, but if you only do it once a week @ £1 a shag, it only works out as £4 a month anyway!

We have a 3 year old and am pregnant with my second child.

Currently about twice a week, but if DS lies in at weekend then more lol. I have always been a morning person but with 6:30 get ups I can't be bothered but since being pregnant I have gone to a night time person.

About 4/5 times a week. I'd be happy with 2-3 times a week, whereas OH would happily do it a LOT more often! So we're both compromising a bit here

If he's only getting it once a week - sounds like he is well prepared already for married life.
