Just a quick DTD question .... I'm a bit confused. As I understand it, Tesco gives you double the difference back in money if you've paid more at the till than the SEL said. So of course you have the initial outlay at the till as well.

Yet I'm sure that some years ago people were filling their boots with Playstations(?) where the price at the till was only a penny different to the SEL. Has Tesco changed the policy over the years or something?

I think they used to have a different policy called something like refund and retain (no doubt someone will correct me if I'm wrong) whereby they would give you your money back and let you keep the item, they introduced dtd a few years back now though to replace this.

Gosh - do i have the nerve to return it? I'll think about it! She has scribbled DTD CASHBACK all over receipt, so I did wonder if they would query. The guarantee comes off the til with the receipt anyway so not sure how on earth the SA thinks its invalid!

I did it last week on phones. Got 2 boxes of quad BT phones

    OOD Sel was 49.97 - scanned 89.97 - over charged £40, so DTD of £80 :)

then times that by 2 :D:D So £160.00 DTD

Took phones back, said I need phones without answering machines, got 2 x 49.97 back.

Customer services actually rang head office as they were trying to take back the DTD but I said that DTD and returns were 2 different policies ... head office agreed with me :D
