  • Looked in the Huddersf!eld store just now and there was Lindt eggs 100g on a clip strip in the seasonal aisle saying £2.00 down to 50p RTC so I thought it was worth a try but they scanned at 50p. (barcode ending 773907 ).

There was a huge stand with 100g bags of mini eggs that I had heard scanned at 1p buy I didn't try these as no scanners.

On the plus side I got some 1p Spontex scourers!

Be Careful with the Lindt Lindor Eggs, I also found them on a clipstrip but mine scanned 50p the same as above poster, however, the barcode was covered over with another barcode which is 5012454 068043 and the one covered up was 4000539773907.
I also scanned the cadbury 6 milk choc tree decorations and they scanned at 25p.
  • hi i am new to the great tesco bargain hunt, i have just got 4 GE 42w energy saving halogen light bulbs SEL 69p when we got to the till she said they were £5+ EACH. the member of staff sent to check removed the label so i couldnt check what it said. Also Bertolli Arrabbiata pasta sauce SEL 49p. online these are not listed but same brand different flavour are £1.32. can someone tell me or point me in the right direction for an explanation on how dtd works??
  • Hi - I am new too.
I am lucky (?????) enough to live equi distant between two Tescos, Ches***field and Cl** Cr*ss. The first has no self scanner so had a look at the second.
I have never seen any of the food items , but have managed some of the sponge scourers (two sorts)and the iron cleaners. I bought quite a few of the light up balloons and my teenage daughter managed to get a dtd on some pink headphones - charged £7.97 rather than £4.97. there was an old yellow sel label on these - the assistant removed it - but left it on the clear and blue ones !
No problem with refund , and no prob putting a few 1ps nthrough till either. The iron cleaner bought the self checkout to a standstill , but the assistan just said 'ooh - thats a bargain isnt it !'
Thanks for the help everyone !:j

let them overcharge you and once you have paid go to customer service and ask them to check the shelf label as you have been overcharged (some people go with them jut incase) they should then offer to refund you what you was overcharged and double it. the till generally works it all out for them but in some stores you have to argue the point.x even if the offer is out of date, it is not your duty to check this it is thiers to change the label

take a pic of the sel with your phone if you know the store is naughty with dtd(like the SA removing the sel when checking...)*but this is optional, some people do it, I never had to...

get the item, pay for it at a till(don't mention anything there...) try not to use self-checkout

go to Customer Service with your receipt and say you've been overcharged, go to show them the shelf label

if they try to give you just the difference ask for double(there SHOULD be a blue/white board there starting with "our promise" and about 2/3 down one that starts "if things don't add up" saying about the dtd)

if any trouble ask to speak to Head Office

    Good luck! :)

Just to say that these jars have been reported as scanning at 49p in this thread on HUKD.

So they should be fine if you think this is a bargain, but don't count on being overcharged.
