    Got 3 x 20cm cake pans. SEL was £0.37. However, got charged £3.50 at self service checkout.

    Got refunded £18.78 DTD.

    wow that's amazing, so you ended up with the 3 pans and a load of free cash!! amazing

    edit: Showing at £3.50 on the website so 37p!!! thats insane lol. £5 down to 37p

    I got these Christmas Eve, sel was 37p and that it what they scanned at.

    I got double the difference on the baking trays that are now £5.50. SEL sais 70 p and they scanned at £8.50 each and I had 4.

    It is worth checking in store at the scanner first.

    Hi Seashells, DTD just means that if you get overcharged then they refund you twice the overcharge. If the item is half price for example and they charge you full price you would get the item for free and if your store has a scanner/price checker you can see before you buy.

    Things vary from store to store so it's well worth scanning things on the offchance!

    And get lots of glitches!
  • i take it that you have to pay the scan price and then go to the customer services to claim the refund? also, those of you that have done it before, did you find the staff knew about it and were happy to do it or did it take a bit of explaining and pushing? i just ask because ive never seen anything advertised anywhere in stores about it, but i have known for a while that they do it, just never tried it.

    1. pay for it with your shopping - don't mention the price at the till.
    2. Examine your receipt as you walk away from the checkout.
    3. spot the overcharge and shake your head in confusion.
    4. walk to customer services and say you have just noticed that you have been overcharged.
    5. Wait for CS to go and check price ticket and follow them, saying you'll show them exactly where the item was.
    6. a) Accept dtd gratiously;
    b) Be offered the difference so you point to the big blue board and say isn't it double the dtd;
    c)Be refused dtd and ask to speak to a manager;

    Usually you are offered dtd without any fuss, you will get to know the stores or individuals who don't like to give dtd, but they usually do when asked.

    Good luck hope you find your first dtd quickly.

    Can I ask if it is possible to get DTD later after you leave the store?
    I was in a hurry and somewhat distracted yesterday and thought my shopping was a bit over what I expected, but it wasn't until I got home and checked, that I realised I had been overcharged on 2 things.
    A big packet of Haribo should have been £1.39,but I was charged £2.75.
    Got 2 tins of Ambrosia custard as it was on offer at 2 for £1, but got charged 85p each.
    With DTD that would give me £4.20 or so back.
    Only problem is,it'll be Friday before I can get a chance to get back there. Can I go and ask in another store?
    I'm so cross with myself for not being on the ball.
