  • I think its the end of October when they will stop rewarding double clubcard points so goes back to 1 point for £1 spent. If you save points and have any big buys planned for Xmas it would be worth buying before then to still get 2 points for every £1.

Looks like they are dropping the number of BOGOFs as well.

    Here is another interesting bit.

Tesco said it will also increase the value customers can get from Clubcard vouchers by improving the exchange rates on the most popular rewards from three times to four times the value.

The most popular rewards include deals with Pizza Express, Cafe Rouge and Strada.

A typical price cut would include loose carrots, which will be reduced by 14p per kilo, which Mr Brasher said would save 247,000 households around £5 million a year.

Seems like its Monday when things start to change and end of october for rewards . I posted a grabbit thread about this but for some reason the title didn't show up. Does anyone know how if I can edit the title of a thread on the grabbit page for some reason it just says "en". ??

Go to edit and then to advanced!:)

Todays news report on the forth coming price cuts.

    http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/273092/Food-prices-slashed-by-30-

    From the article..
Tesco last night announced it would be cutting the cost of 3,000 essential items, including milk, cheese, bread, pasta, fruit and vegetables, from Monday.

It's all very well lowering the price of milk but to fund the cut T's will be giving the dairy farmers less for their milk and the dairy farmers do not got a fair price for their milk as it is! I remember a few years ago when Tesco lowered the price of milk they shafted the dairy farmers so hard that in protest the farmers poured their milk down the drain as they preferred to do that than sell it at a huge loss.
  • Just back from T's, few bits and bobs of info below. Small disclaimer is that my store is classed as Scotland, Highlands and Islands so some deals are specific to this region only, other bargains i find seem to be nationwide.

Misprice, I bought 2 of the 2 for £3 wafer thin cooked meats and the discount didn't kick in, so got £1.50 back, not a huge one but makes it half price.

Price cuts in the frozen food section, lots of empty spaces but items I spotted included:

    2 x Pukka steak pies 75p

2 chicken breasts in chasseur sauce £1.99

Hollands cheese and onion pies 4 for £1.00

Lots of burgers price cut to under £1 - balti flavour, gluten free and more besides.

BBQ food packs still on offer between 75p and £1.50

Managed to finally get some Frootz for my toddler. Also a huge 5kg bag of market value potatoes scanned at just 60p (online price is £1.69). HTH.
  • Just got back from Mr T

The chocolate fingers that are on offer came up at till at £1.80...I couldn't for life of me remeber what the sale price was (my 1yr old was very loudly by this stage telling me he had enough of Mr T) I knew they wasn't that much

Went to CS said I know the price is wrong but was sorry I couldn't tell her what the sale price was as LO was playing up *at this stage all smiles for the CS lady, why do they do that*

To my shock she went do I don't know why anyone would buy them at that price I know that's not right and gave me a FULL REFUND....shocking I said a big thank you and smiled as I went to buy a lotto ticket for tonight.

I was in a store that had very recently had a refit and the blue board at CS was half the size and didn't have the price promise.

Hope it's not a sign that it's on it's way out.

    :(
Uh oh!!! Don't tell me this is one policy that will be going!!!!!

They have thought up a whole new pricing strategy, right down to no more double CC but increasing their value to 4x, less 2for1s and half price offers etc. Maybe this could signify the end of DTD :(

If news reports are correct that Tesco will focus more on all round low prices than BOGOFs and half price offers, it will probably mean very few DTDs anyway as it's these that make it worthwhile :(

my store has also had a refit at the CS/kiosk area, the price promise board has completely disappeared:eek:

It's the same store that I wrote to HO about because someone had scribbled the "we will give you double the difference" out with black marker, then after my email miraculously someone had cleaned the scribble out.

  • I have noticed that some of the new stores have it on a sliding cupboard behind CS, and they conveniently have the sliders so that the DTD board is hidden.

Not sure if thats what they are doing in your stores!?!?
