  • Hello everyone, hope you don't mind me chipping in here with a potentially dumb question... i see people using various abbreviations but have no idea what those abbreviations mean. It's frustrated me so much that i've had to break my lurking cover to ask. Been reading this forum for a couple of weeks now and, truth be told, have saved an absolute bundle on various deals. My missus thanks whoever it was who mentioned Half Price Bailey's at Tesco btw, snagged a few bottles yesterday before the deal ended.

Anyhoo, the abbreviations i'm particually stuck on are SEL and DTD - i was also wondering about OOD but managed to crack that particular code myself without needing an Enigma machine...

SEL = Shelf edge label (The price tag on the shelf)
DTD = double the difference (What you get if they overcharge you)

Glad you are "breaking cover" the more the merrier;):T
    Beware!!!! Glitching is addictive:rotfl:
  • Morning guys hope your all well. Haven't read back yet.

Just got back from my "normal" shop which gets harder to do as I still vere of track to hunt things!

Picked up the mcvities cookies mini bags 6 pack, cadbury fingers mini bags 5 pack and the mini jaffa cakes 6 tubs on offer 3 for £3 until midnight

However, offer has been expired already so not reduction at till so DTD

cost £1.69+£1.69+£1.59 total £4.97 so dtd back £3.94 = £1.03 for 3 multipacks bargain lunchbox fillers

(offer online is 2 for £2.50 from tomorrow, pity no overlap)

I photographed stills from the advert (with a nice zoom in of the date)and was told that while it said it ended on 22nd on the TV they could withdraw offers at any time and it had been withdrawn from store. I think I might have been able to push for getting 3 for 1 (but I got plenty last week and cba), but DTD was definately not gonna happen. I just got a refund. I just think you were lucky letmelogon, but well done!

Its so morally wrong that they they stop an offer before the advertised date. And then they wonder why we take pleasure in sharing our good experiences at making money at their expense .
  • found a wee glitch in a `normal` tesco this morning.head and shoulders SEL 3 for 2 £2.44 each so should have been £4.88 for 3 bottles.I picked up 3 classic clean 250ml bottles(dark blue not the new light blue packaging) and it only cost me £3.66. no 3 for 2 offer but they scanned through at £1.22 a bottle so this worked out better than 3 for 2.
