Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Tuesday 20th September. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well

Morning everyone!
I woke up at about 4:30am this morning and couldn't get back to sleep. Bah! and hunbug! I say. Sometimes Bipolar is a real pain in the rear. But never mind. I shall use the time productively. That's why I'm sitting here drinking coffee and reading FaceBook, of course ;p
My cleaner-who's-about-to-be-sacked comes today so I need to be out most of the morning and make sure I leave the house in a tidy state with the bed stripped for her. While she's working I shall take a bus into town, have a wander and then head up to my parents' (M&D's) to visit and pick up my sister's cat from the cattery. M&D are looking after Dolly while my sister's in rented accommodation and they've just come back from holiday.
Depending on how I feel this afternoon, I may do a bit of FlyLady (to catch what the cleaner misses) or enjoy some time knitting in front of the TV. Then tonight there's a Stitch 'n' !!!!! I'd like to go to but, again, I'll see how I feel. Lack of sleep and a busy morning might be pushing my mood up by then which means I'll need (and not want) an early night.
Hope everyone else has a good, productive and OS day today.Household: Laura + William-cat

Morning Laura & all who follow
Glad I'm not the only early bird today! Woke up about 5 and couldn't go back to sleep, and really should be ironing or making Christmas cards, but I'm having an early tea break.
Got to blitz dining room today, clean bathroom and see if I can find the last of the brambles. DS wants to go to !kea for a few bits for his room, don't know if I want to go - I like their stuff, but it's often quite busy even through the week and don't know if I want to brave the numpties today! :rotfl:
I also want to price up slow cookers and get some more winter prep done - got winter coat and woollies for little DS who's just started school, but need similar for the rest of us, and various things to make/buy for the house itself.
Have a good morning folks - hugs and kisses to all.

Good morning Notjustlaura, Cheapskate, and all who follow.
Laura - that cleaner sounds a real PITA! I hope you can offload her soon; there's no point her being there if you you have to go round after her!
I woke early today and sorted out DH's packed lunch for work, then did a bit of surfing while drinking several cups of tea.
Today, I should be able to finish all the filing and other bits of paperwork. The house had a good clean yesterday, so I should be a bit more leisurely today; well, that's the plan but something's bound to happen to destroy that illusion!
Have no idea what the weather is like because it's still too dark to see outside.
OS-wise, dinner will be belly pork strips in some sort of marinade that I will concoct later, along with stir-fry veg and noodles. Pudding will be tinned fruit cocktail - DH couldn't resist a massive tin of the stuff in Lidl's and, now that it's been opened, we'll just have to eat it for pudding every day until it's gone!
If it's as warm as it was yesterday, I shall tidy up some more of the garden, and decide what will be coming in for overwintering. I know it's only September but there's a decidedly autumn feel to the air lately!
Anyway, I hope you all have a great day.

Morning everyone,
Up bright and early today and hoping for a quieter day than yesterday, I was so busy that I didn't mange to get a cup of tea between 8 am and 5 pm, I was so dehydrated!
DS is ok, he has slight confusion and a headache but he will be fine.
Today is work and then tonight is my ballet class, looking forward to that, it really relaxes me.
Tea tonight is something else made with more of the left over chicken from sunday.
Uolypool hugs to you.
Hugs to all that need them.
Have a lovely day everyone.:)0 -
Morning all,
Lovely sleep last night and all helped by the chiropractor who played with my neck yesterday - bless her. She was lovely and I'll definately be going back there again. She told me I had to do only urgent things yesterday - so I did NOTHING!!!! Today I have it all to do - cleaning, clearing and getting things back to normal. Cat 2 has done a runner again, so I'll be off to our neighbours house asking them to put him in a cat carrier so I can keep him in!
Better get on - almost time to chivvy the children up to get ready for school!!Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.0 -
Morning all
I had an early night last night as I spent all day at work yawning & I managed to sleep through until 5, so not bad.
Hubby's been dropped at the station with his packup, breakfast eaten, fish fed etc etc.
I'm off to work soon & I need to do a mad tidyup when I get home as I have visitors on Wednesday who will be here on the door step when I get home from work.
I also need to finish of the last 2 rounds of a baby blanket as it needs to be posted to America.
Cottage pie for tea tonight & spag bol tomorrow.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Good Morning x
Laura - I sympathise as I also go through periods when my sleep is very disturbed. I am just going into a good phase so fingers crossed it continues !
I need to get breakfast and sorted as I am taking Mooloo's DGD to Nursery again. I think my DD is coming too as I was very wobbly yesterday:eek::eek::eek:
Im not sure what my plans are today but no doubt the washing machine will feature once again.
Have a good day xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Morning everyone
Dull, overcast and looks like rain here this morning. DH up and off to work but not at stupid early o'clock, so he brought me a cuppa in bed. He has meeting tonight so won't be back until late, DS1 has rugby training tonight so teas will be quickies. Washing got dry on the line, but not putting any out today as it's so dull - it's going to rain later. Will get airer out and put clothes on that so I can get another load in the WM. Work wasn't too busy yesterday so managed to catch up with emails etc. DS2 is taking ingredients to make fruit salad to school today - so will have that for dessert tonight, as have a pot of cream in fridge left from the weekend.
DH going away tomorrow night to run another caravan rally until Tuesday next week, I'm going on Friday when boys come out of school then back on Sunday afternoon - ready for school and work for me on Monday - they are going to stay with DH's aunt whilst we are away.
Have a great day everyone, hugs to those that need/want them, take care.

Morning all!
I'm not looking forward to the train this morning, there are so many students on it that its hit and miss as to if you'll actually get on the train! The next train still gets me in before 9am but i feel very rushed.
I have salad for my lunch today, was whoopsied in waitrose for 50p last night and our dinner in tandoori chicken with pilau rice and naan bread. The chicken has been marinading since yesterday so i hope it tastes good!
I have some washing on the clothes horse, need to get another load in but will wait till i get home.
Anywhooo.
Have a lovely day all, will catch up later
