If this had happend to me when i was younger then it would be a no-brainer, but as I'm older and wiser I'm not sure what to do.
I ordered a printer and an extra inks at the weekend and i was sent a comformation email with the amount that I've paid, and that amount has now gone out of my account.
My printer arrived today, but they have sent me not one printer and extra ink but 2 identical printers, a usb cable and a black ink cartridge.
The delivery note and the invoice in the parcel have my name, address and correct delivery address but the wrong items and wrong amount.
What shall i do:
Keep the extra printer and if they don't get in contact with me, say after a month then flog it?
or
contact them get them to pick up the printer
Also more importantly, if they realised what they've done, whether it's next week or in 3 months time, and I haven't contacted them could they take out the extra money, to cover for the extra printer they sent, from my bank account via my card details (i paid by debit card) without my prior consent.
Any thoughts would be much appreciated

Legality aside, it's a bit of a no-brainer. You know what to do. Return the second printer. But, not at your cost or inconvenience of course. Tell them to come and get it. You could try the 'unsolicited goods' approach whereby the goods become yours after six months (or after one month if you've contacted them and they fail to collect the printer).
But, you must make the effort to contact them. I think you'll be on very dodgy ground if you simply say nothing."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
Just for info, there is now no requirement to contact the sender when receiving unsolicited goods. They become the unconditional property of the recipient as soon as they have been received.
However, I don't think that the 2nd printer would class as unsolicited goods as these must be something sent to someone who hasn't ordered them. This is simply a mistake on the part of the seller.0 -
Thanks for the help guys.

If the Invoice shows the one printer and the extra inks you ordered, along with the price for those, then they won't be able to find out from that where their missing items are.
Reckon it would put you in their good books and help with getting other things repaired in the future if you asked them to collect the spare items.0 -

stop contradicting yourself, and just call the company and tell them to send a courier to collect it.
never seen such a ridiculous comment "mmm will sleep on it." like its yours.0 -
Contact them asap, do the responsible/adult thing and let them know, the manager of the firm or 1 of his sub ordinates could be getting a rollocking for a printer going missing. I say could as i dont know how places like that work. You could email them now and they could reply tomorrow morning.0

Email them, tell them and ask them to collect, if they dont collect within 4 weeks then !!!! them, its now your printer keep it or sell it. Why should your house be a storage room for their stuff? 28 days is plenty of time for them to come and get it. If they pick it up within the 4 weeks then oh well, you nearly won this one but not quite.
I ordered some protein powder off ebay, the seller sent me 2 tubs though. I emailed him and said oi I hope you aren't charging me for 2! Can you arrange for it to be collected/returned? He said sorry and told me to keep it!0
