First Time Buyer Worries!

I had a Halifax case last year where we completed the application on 17 June. The offer was dated 19 August, so two months from application to offer.
We had one two week delay for a missing page from the applicants' tax credits award (page four of four) which was completely blank other than the page 4 of 4 at the bottom.
Then we found applicant one passed a birthday on 8 July, making him 40. The 25 year term then cut past his normal retirement age so I had to obtain confirmation from his employer he could carry on working past 65.
Each issue took about a week to resolve then another week while Halifax got round to dealing with it. We lost four weeks, just like that.
My last Halifax case was input on Tuesday 5 July and offered on Thursday 7 July. You never know what's going to happen!I am a mortgage broker. Thanx for that info. I just spoke to Halifax and they have given me an update. They are still waiting for the paper work from the solicitor which the solicitor confirms have been sent and also the broker has put my partner as Mrs but het title is miss. Halifax have contacted the broker regarding this. Don't understand why he did that beacuse all the paper for my partner states miss. Should this be a problem?0

We've been in contact with Halifax today and they say that the payslips etc were sent across but there is a discrepancy with my partners earnings. However what the broker failed to tell them was it isn't a full months payslip and they have a letter from her HR to confirm her full salary. So we're stuck in a rut yet again and no one is communicating to us...and we're nearly at the end of the week again.0

Thank you for your help. Realty is appreciated. The things though they have not asked for my bank statements but just my partners.0 -

Hi glad to see that I am not the only one having to wait for decisions and pleased to read that waiting does pay off! In the process of applying for a mortgage with Nationwide, it is a paper based application and seems to be taking forever to get a decision. Full application was submitted on the 24th October, was advised by our MA that the survey was instructed so assume now that we are simply waiting for that to come back with no problems and we should get our offer? Has any one else had experience dealing with Nationwide?0
