Easier said than done ! But I think with mortgage applications, patience is the virtue!! You will get there in the end. Bless ya xSusieWoozy wrote: »yay happy days!

Hi ppl
My wife and I are first time buyers and we have applied for a mortgage through a broker and its been almost 2 months n we have not recieved an offer. The mortgage is going through Halifax and they have already completed a valuation which was done last months 18th and there were no issue. Last week monday had a call from broker to provide details of where our deposit so we gave them the same day with proof of bank statements and receipts. I was told this was normal and for money laundering purposes. Now its been 2 weeks since the solicitors got all the evidence for the deposit and still no offer. Why is it taking so long? The solicitor is asking for search fees but ive not even had the offer. Could anyone shed some light on why this is dragging.
Thank you0 -

After no update from our broker, I called today and discover they require even more payslips. I've sent those across and yet again we're into another week. The problem is, they keep asking for payslips, leaving it two weeks, then requesting more and its a vicious circle that is going nowhere. The valuation was done 3 weeks ago now on the 8th September. I said to the broker will they just keep asking, then waiting and asking as it is getting annoying now.
Over the whole time period, they've had payslips dating back to May 2011 over-all on there records.0 -
Having contacted Halifax, they say they still need 3 months payslips for myself and 1 month for my partner, yet our broker had all these months ago. So whereas we thought we were on the home straight, they probably haven't even worked out affordability yet! Stressful...0

Stressful it is. I've had my valuation done Aug 18th n still no offer. Spoke to solicitor today and they said we passed all evidence of deposit and now I'm just waiting. All I have been doing. Waiting. Streesing me out now. Broker says as soon as Halifax get evidence of deposit we should be k. I'm losing hope now.0

Sounds very similar, weeks pass by and nothing seems to happen, yet it started so quickly. When they had all the documents I don't understand the holdups. Just refuse it if its not affordable!0

They will then give you a better update because brokers are very slow in my opinion. I had to do this myself because I was getting nowhere fast.
Hi. Quick q. Did the bank provide u with information on the mortgage and what stage they were up to? I though I couldn't contact Halifax as I'm going through a broker? Correct me if I'm wrong. I'm fed up of my broker.0 -

Hi, I never gave it a second thought when I did it. as soon as I got the valuation report I called Halifax who said I should have full mortgage offer in 48 hours. Didn't have any effect on my application doing this.
Good luck!0 -
