First Time Buyer Worries!
Comments

Thanks everyone for your replies, we are hoping based on what's been said we will be OK. I hope its sooner rather than later though, I'm not sure I can wait 9 weeks... the suspense is killing me! and... I'm fed up of paying rent!
For the record we have researched firstbuy and this is definately the way to go for us.
I don't think we will have the mortgage % problem, from the sounds of it only 3 properties have been sold on the firstbuy scheme on the development. In our area its not really been well publicised at all, we only found out about it by randomly walking into the development.
Good luck to you other firstbuyers! please let me know how you get on and I shall keep you posted our end! xx0 -
Hi Kingstreet, just wanted to take your opinion - Am I able to direct contact Halifax to see where my application is rather than bugging the broker every time? I haven't heard anything from broker as yet (I know no news is good news, but can't help not thinking about it
) Ta x
Also - I have noticed any footprints on my credit report for any searches? Is this normal? Who do Halifax uses, is it Experian or Equifax?0 -
Hi mate - have you heard anything about your application yet? xWe're in the same boat, waiting for the full offer on FirstBuy and with Halifax, however it seems to be taking ages, the valuation happened two weeks ago now and we had the letter Monday of last week with the valuation.
Getting twitchy waiting around. Taking longer than I thought.0 -

Okay. Thanks mate, appreciate it. :mad:kingstreet wrote: »You're better off leaving it to your broker who deals with a specific centre in Halifax. Experian is the HBoS preferred CRA.0

So, my partner advises me he's looked at his credit report and he has been checked twice, once on 16th and once today, what does this mean? i thought they only did one!0

What is the text alongside one of the searches? Unrecorded enquiry by any chance?I am a mortgage broker. @ Kingstreet - sorry to be pain
, just spoke with the broker and i have been advised that the initial verification is done and all looks okay. HOWEVER (i know hate that word) amongst every 3-4 cases 1 gets pulled away for some HO verification which takes further 48 hours or so. Once that comes back, I will have the offer?
Have you heard this bed time story before? I am not questioning any integrity of the broker here but its always better to have an independent opinion. I look forward to your response. Thank you x0 -

It says first time mortgage apparently, or something along those lines. Is that a good or bad sign?0 -
