I only ask because even though he wasn't married to mum at any point, naming on certificate automatically assigns parental responsibility to him and makes him jointly responsible in the eyes of the law for her behaviour whilst a minor.
That only applies to children born on or after 1st December 2003. Prior to that, being on the birth certificate did NOT convey parental responsibility.0 -

I stand corrected - at 15 yrs it does not apply unless the dad has formally registered with the Registrar after 2003.Integrity is a dying art!:p0

Morning everyone,
My step-daughter has recently said that she really wants to work with children or be a model. We sat down with her to work out what she'd have to do. However she doesn't seem to understand the consequences on her future. Her first job reference will have to come from the school and she already has this caution for threatening behaviour.
I wish she could live with us but we have a small 2 bed house and I have a son about to start puberty! I'm taking note of all suggestions, I really appreciate your advice. Thankyou.
With regard to them now being on holiday (yet more time out of school) I think we've been lied to again. When OH spoke to her about this she claimed the school had given permission (her grandmother even backed up the claim). I can't understand why they would especially as the Head had been away a few days and on friday new nothing about it. The Head told OH that he has had no emails from teachers saying she had been absent so we presume she has been in.
p.s Is the site playing up only the 'thanks' buttons don't seem to be working!Good Enough Club member number 20 -
