Do self scans have a limit regarding coupons?

I was in a rush in Tesco and they only had about 3 cashiers on as it was really early, so I used the self scan.

I bought 3 tins of the Baxter's Healthy soup, 3 for £2, scanned 2 coupons no trouble, tried the 3rd and it requested an assistant.

She asked if it was an internet coupon, said they didn't take them if they didn't have Safe Coupons written on.

I didn't say I used a few the other day when using a cashier.

Didn't scan my clubcard either when asked.

I was peed off because I had spent £1 instead of 50p for 3 tins of soup which I wouldn't normally buy.

Don't mind paying 50p but £1. grrrrrrr!

    :D

Yes, the limit is 2, if you scan more, the till will ask for approval. At one time you could use a lot more ( it was 25% of the total cost of your shopping) I actually hate using vouchers on the SS tills. Some staff don't understand how the tills work and when it asks for approval they assume it's because they don't accept that particular voucher!

BTW, where is everyone getting the Welch's voucher from? TIA:)

    EDIT: found it :)

Afternoon all! Seeing as I created my account here last week I thought I may as well keep posting!

Been to Mr S this morning to use my second Welch's coupon. thought I'd pick up a WW meal as well while I was there. Unfortunately, the nearest big Mr S near me only stocks the Thai green curry one - the only one that's not suitable for freezing as well! Am getting a bit curri-ed out, but can't resist the occasional free meal!

This was the first time I thought they weren't going to accept the coupon for the WW meal - cashier started reading it intently when I handed it over (never a good sign!), then tried to claim she couldn't accept it because "it only goes up to £2.99, and yours is £3"... :mad:Suggested she might like to try scanning it anyway to see if it took the £2.99 off! Fortunately she agreed to give it a go :D

Anyway, success in the end so that was what mattered. Plus, the fact she didn't seem that used to coupons meant that she happily let my Welch's coupon take the extra money off my shop! Also managed to find some oxtail simmer soup @15p (was 65p). Also bought a couple of other non-reduced bits but managed to get a £10 shop down to £3.50 with coupons - thanks to lurking and following all your advice for ages! Hope everyone is having a good day

ETA: has anyone tried using the WW coupon in Mr W lately? Sure I remember reading on here that someone tried it and it came up as 'not accepted by MrW'? Just wondering becuase they have a much better selection but don't want to walk all the way there if they've stopped taking them!

Also, in case it helps someone, I think the Bear Yo Yo's coupon on the front page (not the one you have to play a game for) has reset - it let me print off 2 yesterday and I've definitely had them before.

How did you print this out as it says on it no copies allowed?
I have snipped it out and printed it but worried that it will be regarded as a copy.

How can anyone think it is a copy if it has been taken from a magazine? There will be a pic or print on the back of it.

  • Hi
My daughter has been sent some Tesco conditional spend vouchers, which she will not use. Can I use them or are they relevant to your clubcard account?

    Thanks
