I use iWork on the Mac, its pretty cheap and suits my home and office's DTP needs. There is a 30 day trial of it available too (pre-installed with Mac OS X Tiger).Windows is the path to the darkside...Windows leads to Blue Screen. Blue Screen leads to downtime. Downtime leads to suffering...I sense much Windows in you.0 -

The magazine you are referring to is the March issue of Computer Shopper. They did carry Quark 5 on the CD/DVD in the January issue.
The March issue of PCPro is the currently available mag with Quark on the cover disc.
I know I've referred to both magazines in my previous posts so sorry if I've caused any confusion!0 -
Does anyone know what the difference is between the DVD and the CD then?0

a DVD can hold much more data, although they are both physically the same size
Only kidding, dvd editions usually have far more software on them, but the mag will be exactly the same.0 -
I got the DVD in December (following recommendations on this site) but have been so busy have just got round to loading it (need to register by the 25th) but I am with AOL and keep getting an error message that AOL can't support the file size.
I am only trying to register in order to get the key to let me download it.
You MSEs all sound so expert so I would appreciate some help.
Thanks WJ0 -
For what it's worth Quark 5 is generally accepted as the worst example of the programme, it was so bad and buggy it damaged the company's rep; the 3s and 4s are superior; 6s have been much better but far from perfect, I have no experience of 7 but I have read its no great improvement. But outside the DTP industry who would really want such a prog?0

I bought it today at Asda. Thank you for this. Been trying to get hold of QuarkXpress for years since our Mac broke down and we bought a PC. Adobe may be better but I know how to use this one! Will have to do for now. No more using Publisher! Thank you!NSD 0/150

You do NOT have to load the DVD/CD-ROM to register your copy:
If you go to
http://euro.quark.com/computershopper,
you can create a QuarkStore Account and enter the unique serial number from your DVD/CD-ROM – you can then get your validation code emailed to you by requesting email confirmation at the appropriate moment. Quark send you 2 emails, the first confirming your QuarkStore account info and the second confirming your validation code which you then enter at the appropriate moment during installation.)

Thanks for this post. I couldn't get hold of the Computer Shopper issue in January but picked this one up in Tesco this morning.
THANK YOU TO ALL WHO TAKE TIME TO POST COMPETITIONS
