    hello all

I think I did say hello on another pg thread a while back, but I can't remember which one - if it was this one, sorry!

    Anyway, I'm BB1984, and I'm 16w+3d, EDD 14th June.

I am quite small, with a short body, so already have a fairly sizeable bump - I look pregnant rather than just a bit tubby, which is nice! :D Had a bit of a scare a few days ago whilst on holiday in New York - I fell over heavily right onto my tummy :o I was obviously quite worried, but then my worry subsided as I had no bad pain or bleeding. We came home the next day and I called the midwife who came over and listened to baby's heartbeat and all is fine :) I must be more careful from now on, instead of charging around thinking I can do everything as normal!

Have been getting quite a few stretching ligaments pains - especially when I sneeze - ouch!! I think baby is having a growth spurt as I have suddenly grown out of all my clothes. Rebekah (and anyone else) - I've got quite a few pairs of leggings from Peacocks, not maternity ones, just normal. They're very high-waisted, so come right up over bump, which I find really comfy. And they're very stretchy, so I've found that buying one size bigger than my "old" size fits great (for the time being). They're only £6 a pair too, winner.

I definitely need to buy some maternity clothes though, am running out of things to wear!

Right I'll stop whittering on now...! Happy New Year everyone :)

DH and I are starting to plan the bedroom for Elvis once it has been decorated, it will be the box room which (like most box rooms) has the door in the middle of the wall, a window opposite it with a radiator underneath and it also have a box on the left of the door which is the stairs headroom riser - no chance of being able to move this!

Am I right in thinking we don't want to put the cotbed near the radiator? If so the only place we can put it is sort of behind the door. I can certainly put a door stop beanbag on the floor to make sure the door doesn't hit the cotbed but is this a good idea?

    Thanks!

Ps - Any news from Cloudberry yet?

Your box room sounds identical to ours Icey. We've put the cot behind the door, with a door stop to prevent it from banging the cot. It's the only way we can make the room work. Seems ok though.

    Thanks Ro and 4nnabella!

We'll be putting in a little chest of drawers (already stuffed with all her clothes and bits 'n' bobs) and my glider chair. We'll use the stairs headroom box as the changing station with a set of shelves above it :)

  • Few hiccups - her head was 36cm, not her length (d'oh!!)

Whoever said that you wouldnt be bothered about hair down there - I was!! I was also annoyed that i had forgot baby wipes to take my make up off whilst pushing and I was the first one up on the ward having a shower and putting my make up on before OH and DD came up (I know that makes me REALLY vain but im not really lol promise!)

Hospital had a sign up saying NO laptops/mobile phone chargers were to be used (Just in case you was wondering)

Will put my birth story up later/another time.

Having a few problems breast feeding, Amy keeps spitting the booby back out!!! She isnt latching properly (My fault) but we are getting there.

Suprisingly, after all the arguing we have been doing whilst pregnant OH was amazing at the hospital - Kept giving me kisses and telling me how proud he was and how good i was doing. He cried when Amy was born and cut her cord and then spent nearly an hour cuddling her whilst I had a shower and got checked over.

We had a bad night last night so i let him sleep (Contemplated kicking him a few times to wake him lol) but it worked out well because he had Amy for me today whilst I had a nap and spent time with DD. Fingers crossed this is the start of us being "right" again :o DD is now in bed, Amy i in hher moses basket asleep, im on here and i've sent OH up to the pub for a pint seeing as he hasnt had one since last year. . . . lol

    Well i suppose your wanting to see a picture of Amy then . . . . .

Lol, same here, the box is going to be our changing station! Haven't got any shelves though, but I've been thinking about putting some up as there's definitely not much storage space! We've got the chest of drawers between the stairs headroom box and the wall with the window, and then a blanket box tucked down by the end of the cot. No room for a glider chair though, unfortunately as I really want one!
