  • lol emmylou if its what i think it is, it wont bring it on if swallowed it needs to go in the area that got you into the situation you are in in the first place. but there is a chemical in it that can cause you to go into labour.

my stepkids dont live here they live with there mother, the eldest two used to live here but one is off having her own baby and the other went back to his mums so he can go to colledge down there. we only have them at weekends now, and even then it isnt every weekend.

i cant imagine having twelve kids, altho people say to me how will you cope with four, the answer is the same way i cope with three, once you have two another one is no more or less hard work it will be the same when this baby comes, no more or less hard work, altho i am drawing the line at this one, i think my gp would have a hernia if i went in after another bfp lol
  • Hi everyone,

Feeling a bit better now, thanks for the well wishes.

Moneyhoney1 - The anti-d jab was a shocker for me too, I'm usually quite strong when it comes to jabs but it actually bruised my arm and felt horrible! Not looking forward to getting another one lol

Gilly - Lovely pushchair, looks really compact and pretty :)

For anyone who's interested poundland are stocking Roc maternity stretchmark oil atm - RRP £15 so a really good deal! I tried it and it feels nicer than bio oil IMO too :D

    I've a question that's driving me nuts! -
How long gp bottles stay sterile for once they come out the steriliser? How do you keep them sterile?
I don't see the point of being able to sterilise 6 bottles at a time if they become unsterile once lid is opened to take 1 out?

  • erm, i dont know, i didnt only take one out at a time with the kids i made a days worth of bottles at a time and heated them as and when they were needed.
  • Lovely little pushchair Gilly, worth the agro!

I've just been for my anti-D jab. OMG it really hurt my arm:eek: I'm a regular donor so I'm used to needles but this feels like I've been stung by an angry wasp. Has anyone else had this jab and did it hurt?

I refuse point blankly to even let them near my arm with that stuff, its in the bum or not at all.

The recommendation now is feeds are only made up as and when they are needed. Friends of mines take the bottles out the steriliser add the water that is needed and then leave them in the fridge or whatever. Then add the milk when they are ready to feed baby. Hth xx
The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.
  • I wasn't given the choice of bum, just arm. Did you manage to sit down okay after? 3 hours on and my arm still hurts a bit, got to have another of these jabs:eek:

Not sure about EPO, presumming just tablets same as raspberry capsules? Looks like we will be swallowing alot of things, however i draw the line at what i was told the other day can help bring on labour if swallowed! x

You can swallow the EPO to start with, but in the few weeks before EDD, you are supposed to insert them.....

My M/W told me about the other thing to swallow. She was very pro the idea, as it is apparently supported in the latest research.

Thanks Gilly. I've read that too. Should it be boiling water, or cooled boiled water? Dont really want to be sterilising every few hours when I can do 6 bottles at a time.

Well i`ll be giving the EPO a miss then! lol And as for swallowing, a friend tried it a few weeks ago, quite a few times, and still ended up being induced :rotfl:her bf wasnt complaining tho ;) When i first read it I thought someone was taking the big P! Pineapple worked with DD3, so will try that again, if not, then i`ll just cry until induction date haha!
Sterilising bottles, I think if u take them out of the steriliser and make sure they r put together with lids on they r fine? Just sterilise lids too! I also used to make them all up in one go, but then they started changing advise, I know ur def not to keep them on the door as the temp just isnt cold enough. With DD3, i used a cold water steriliser, best one i`ve had tbh, so just took bottles out as and when i needed them. Altho, I also stopped sterlising them when she was 10 weeks old, purely because she was rolling around the floor and i kept finding her sucking the cats tail! I figured there were far more germs on that than in a thoroughly washed bottle! xx
