it might be worth looking at your overall household income, to see if you are under the threshold for child tax benefits. I think off the top of my head (might be wrong!) it is a total upper income threshold of £60k, with more credit available the further below this you are.

If anyone knows if that is right I'd be very interested to know as once I give up work we will be well below £60k but everything I've seen so far suggests we'll get absolutely nothing. I may be looking in the wrong places though!

    morning all,

I am now 40 weeks and 3 days! I am so fed up everything aches and hurts. Hips are bad today, back hurts today i want this baby out but my bump is still really high so i cant see it happening!

I have a consultants appointment this afternoon at 4pm but i dont think they will agree to doing anything.

    RANT WARNING!

when i had DD1 i measured small all the way through i measured 36cm when i gave birth to her. she weighed 8lb 1 oz and i had a 3rd degree tear that left me being rushed across to another hospital in an ambulance for stitches and i was borderline on a blood transfusion.
This time right from the start they told me this baby would have to be born at the bigger hospital rather than the local community one as they care concerned about the same thing happening.

Now i am 40 weeks and 3 days and measuring 45cm instead of 40cm everything indicates this baby is going to be big hence the chance of the same problems again!
They wont do anything cant do a sweep baby is to high and wont induce until i am 10 days over! I am so cross.

i have a feeling that what will happen is baby wont come naturally. they will induce middle of next week by then she will be to big and wont come out and i will end up with a c section. This is my worse nightmare as although i have a partner he doesnt live with me and i have a 9 year old who i need to get to school etc this will cost me about £8 a day for a taxi if i have a section i wont be able to drive. my bloke is a single dad so he has to take his 2 boys to school and cant take my daughter (different areas and different schools!) This will truly push me over the edge.

Also my mum is currently home and able to help but will be back at work on boxing day so if baby doesnt come now i will be doing it all on my own. i dont even have anyone to have her while i go in and have baby if it is after Christmas.

Sorry for the really long post and rant but i feel really low, upset and fed up today!

I dunno what to do anymore

Just had a look at Direct.gov. They are giving the figure for child tax credits for up to 5th April 2012, as £41,300 if you are a couple with children.

I KNOW i saw the higher figure somewhere.. maybe it refers to some other things combined. hmmm.

Our joint income for the year when I am on maternity leave will be below £60k, but I don't think we will be getting anything else. The child benefir (£20+£13 per week) will go on the nappies, I guess!

as for the offers keep your eyes open for the huggies newborn starter boxes when they are on offer/ reduced to £3 each buy a couple. make sure they say on the outside that they include £5 off in vouchers inside. When you open the box you will get a packet of newborn nappies, huggies pure wipes a hat and vouchers. £2 off huggies newborns which you can us to buy another box for £1! also £1 off huggies wipes which if you wait they will be on offer for £1 each somewhere.

You can go round in circles getting boxes for a £1 and a voucher. i was lucky enough to get some other vouchers for £1 off huggies so got 90% of my boxes for free.

Just thought I'll mention something I just found out - if you join Asda baby club, you get a voucher for a free Huggies starter pack!!!! I told this method of cheap nappies to OH last night, and he was impressed! Not sure he agrees for swapping for bigger sizes, but at elast we can stock up on the size 1!

My due date is today, had a sweep yesterday but it's too soon for it to do anything (cervix wasn't ready). I haven't got the problem of measuring big-but i've got problems with high bp which is why i'm not being left too long without being induced. My son came a few days early so i'm disappointed to be kept waiting this time!

I have been very worried about my 3 year old-who will have him, how do i get him there? will my husband be at work at the time? I'm still hoping baby comes over the holiday so i have better chance of my sister having him for me and hubby being on xmas leave.

The idea of being alone during labour scares me-which doesn't help my bp. My last labour and birth was very quick and i needed stitches (midwife wasn't confident dealing with it so had to call a doctor in to do it)-so i am nervous about that too.

I hope all goes smoothly for you aswell-we need these babies to hurry up and make a safe arrival! xx

I assume they are testing you for O-C then. I was hideously itchy all over around 28 weeks, my face, head and legs got the worst, especially bad in the evenings - had many classic OC symptoms, mentioned it when i saw the consultant, and he had me tested straight away, but it came back clear. If it continues though, you may need a retest, even if the first test is clear, as it can take a while for enough build up in the blood to show in a test, even if there is enough to cause the itching!
In the meantime, the consultant prescribed Dermacool aqueous cream with menthol, which killed the itching dead pretty much, when nothing else had touched it...

Thanks Kira,i'm really not that itchy, not as bad as they say it can be with OC. And it doesnt help reading about itching,as it makes you want to itch. :rotfl:
I should get results back on friday hopefully.
