What is it with us and deliveries, after a phone call to confirm and a text saying it was out for delivery, NO CRIB. Waited in from 0730-2100 as per citylinks website instructions for this time of year, and nothing. I could cryThe frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0

Hi everyone
Jenjade I hope your little lady makes her appearance soon
I am so sorry if I missed any details earlier in the thread when I wasn't around but do you have any tips on where you got all those wonderful freebies???:D:D:D
I have a few vouchers but all of them seem to be money off and I did get a small freebie from Tesco I think, a small pack of baby wipes, already gone on *someone's* mascara at night
Thanks in advance!!! I aspire to your stash lol my OH is very impressed:rotfl::rotfl:Debt Free Wannabe by 1 January 2016

Gilly, sorry about the non appearing delivery!
I went to Matalan and bought yoga pants, leggings and a pyjama. Then stopped at Sainsbury's and got 2 watermelons and clementines. The first watermelon is demolished.
Checked my email to find an email confirming a payment of 40 euros to the company I have never heard of and the invoice they sent me has some chinese name, so quickly filed an unauthorised transaction. A bit wound up, I hope it gets sorted soon.... I am bit too wound up to go to sleep now... And have to be up early and bright as the big boss is coming in for a meeting with the staff....Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -
I'm at my wits end, I'm actually in tears here, OH is bawling and shouting at me because I'm so upset. I just feel like we've been royally shafted this week with things like this and I cannot take any more of it. On Citylinks website it's showing as a "failed delivery" which basically means "yeah we've tried noone was in"
I've sat ALL day, putting off going to the toilet at times, which at 33 weeks pregnant isn't flipping easy, because when we ordered it, they couldn't put our Apartment number down, only the door number, so I said to the guy in the shop well if we know what day it's coming I can keep an eye out.
They have not been near all day, but still managed to put a "failed delivery" notice on there website.
Got a refund for my £5 delivery with Tesco, but I'm so upset and annoyed, I honestly cannot stop crying. OH was supposed to come with me tomorrow, get a chance to hear babies heartbeat etc, and now he won't be able to as he has to sit in for a delivery, which we don't even know if it's been re-scheduled because the City Link options and automated service were so !!!!!!!g crappy!!
We had such a nice day planned tomorrow, going out for lunch, and then to the cinema, and now it's all been flipping ruined.
I wish I could say I was mad, but I'm not even angry
I'm sorry for rantingThe frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
Gilly you really do have my sympathies, it sounds like our flats that no one can ever find (although anyone who really tries, or ring us never have a problem :mad:)
We've had wedding presents, registered post etc not turn up, had to wait in for it etc, the worst was the wedding present as if my relatives were not the kind of people to say "did you get it" we might never know :mad:told them they tried 3 times and we weren't in!!! When we were, packing for honeymoon, both work from home, and they didn't leave any cards anyway.
Tesco have got to be the worst. One time we actually had to go pick up the order ourselves from Tesco :mad::mad:Driver said he left us voicemails!!!
It's part of the reason I am not buying anything yet as we are moving house and hopefully it will be easier there, mind you with the speed of conveyancing  we will prob still be here!!!
Sorry about tomorrowI would definitely complain. Nearly every month we get something back from Tesco for something, and you never know with other companies until you try.
ETA PS I am crying at everything at the minute and I mean EVERYTHING lolDebt Free Wannabe by 1 January 2016

Thing that is most annoying is, the status on Citylink was apparently updated at 18.10, but funnily enough when I checked it at 6, 6.30, 7, 7.30, 8 and 8.30, nothing, so when I contacted Tesco there was nothing they could do as the Citylink office had closed. Whereas if I'd seen that status at 18.10, I would have contacted Tesco there and then, and they could have contacted Citylink to see what the eff was going on.
I know it won't be the driver tomorrows fault, but I feel like ranting at him. To top it off on the automated service "please note, only 1 re-schedule is permitted, after this time the item will be sent back to the manufacturer" so if the same happens tomorrow, we're up !!!!!! creek without a paddle, as it's being sent back, and on the Mr T Website, the item is now out of stock.
I actually wanted to scream at the guy from Tesco, WHY ARE YOU USING SUCH CRAPPY COURIERS, but I didn'tat least I didn't have to pay anything for delivery, as I got it back, BUT luckily I don't work, !!!!!! would someone who works do with all the problems we've had in the last week? In the space of 6 days, 4 of those, we've had deliveries, Oh and our hoods for our pram are being delivered tomorrow aswell apparently, by CITYLINK, at an address 30 miles from here. What an utter shambles.

I hope it works out tomorrow.
I forgot to add the courier service who brought us our passports -had to meet deliverer at our flat entrance after some phone calls and he told me it was ridiculously hard to find !!! his missus was waiting in the car so he was about to give up!!! and that I was lucky as most other drivers would have given up!!!Debt Free Wannabe by 1 January 2016

Looking back at all these comments, you'd honestly think that I'm making it up, how can one person be so unlucky :rotfl: See even if they'd phoned to say "we've been too busy today, is tomorrow ok?" I would have been more understanding, it's the fact they've not been near the door, it makes me so mad, almost as mad as when the postie puts one of those little cards through about a parcel when you're sitting in the living room.
At least you know your flat is hard to find, ours is in a well known street in the centre of a city, that isn't really that big!The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -

Poor you Gilly, i cant believe you are having such bad luck with deliveries at the moment! Could you maybe call City link in the morning and arrange to collect your item instead, then at least you know you have it? In my experience with CL, its best to call and arrange to collect, rather than just show up, so that they can put it in an easy to find place at the depot.
You must be v unlucky, or have a particularly bad cl depot, as CL is actually our preferred courier for our area. The others, DHL excluded, tend to be useless.Married 13/03/10 #1 DD born 13/01/12!!

The depot is in the middle of nowhere and miles away, so it's not really an option for usCity Link won't speak to us, this is a joke btw,
we have to call Tesco, who will call Sapling (the crib company people) who will contact City Link, who will then relay the info back to Tesco, who will relay it back to us! Yes that is what I was told on the phone tonight by the man from Mr T.
It's not even the fact it's not arrived that's annoying me, just that they haven't been near and are obviously lying about it, and even with Tesco on there case, I don't think they will back down, they will probably be adamant that they were here, despite my nose being pressed against the glass for hours.
My Uncle is senior management for CL and I've just phoned my dad to rant to him about it and he said when speaking to my Uncle last night, he was saying they're really struggling, they've basically took on too much work for this time of year. The frontier is never somewhere else.
