Oh also apparently there are vidoes on YouTube showing accupressure and reflexology you can do yourself that might help bring it on - when Kira mentioned massage she reminded me!0
-
Thanks. I was told they are stopping doing the tours, and telling you to look online at the pics instead. Grrrr.
I went not long ago (6 weeks maybe) and there was no mention of them stopping - give the maternity department a call on a Saturday or Sunday to check - I called the Sunday I planned to go and was told to meet at the entrance to the maternity unit at 4pm - lasted about an hour and I found it good to have a look around. The only 2 other things i've read about (other than doing naughties as someone else mentioned), are a good foot/calf massage, with plenty of action on the bottom of the foot, and around the heel/ankle area, which can start things off (hence why you cant find many masseuse who will give PG ladies leg massages! Or you could try playing with/rolling your nips, which they apparently do sometimes suggest in hospital. I would try number 1 first tho, as apparently the nipple thing if it works, can bring on quite fiercly!

I did try the reflexology on the hand the other day - will have to try the feet thing but am finding it hard to put my socks on, nevermind massage my feet (DH has a foot phobia so no chance of him doing it...)
And the nip thing - it makes me feel pervy (IYKWIM!)- guess I have to get over the perviness thing if I want to get the baby out
Thanks girls
xDxFear is temporary, regret is forever.....:happyhear Baby girl born 27th September - 10 days late!! :happyhear0 -
Belly button- mine's tiny and shiny and sits flush now- I have to use a mirror to see it though!
My hospital told me at the last appointment that they wouldn't allow me a tour of the delivery suite until 30 weeks- I'd only been going to look as they offered anyway! Then they told me they've discontinued the tours when I was at 29 weeks- 'but it's alright, because we wouldn't have let you in anyway!' lol........
Winnie- gah at my back.... I can walk, but it's going to be a hell of a time before I attempt a game of Twister. Think I twisted something, I'm fine relatively as long as I try not to move a lot. Thanks for the dress comment. The car was my wedding present to DH- it's ex-Police and was quite cheap, but is very rare, only 20 driving in UK.... I got sort of bloodyminded at the wedding when I looked at costs of hiring cars- decided if I was going to pay silly money I wanted to own it afterwards.Biggest Ebay purchase yet!
Steak- I want some! But it doesn't taste the same fully cooked. I like it mooing at me when I drive in!
ddebski- hope it isn't long for you......0 -
Gosh this thread moves so fast! It takes me ages to catch up, by the time I get to the end I've forgotten what I was going to say lol.
I'm 36+2 today and we still have loads to do. House is in disarray and I have three self-emp[loyed projects to complete before I can kick back and relax. Only problem is I have baby brain and the work is really intensive. Starting to wish I had stopped taking projects earlier :-( Would just love to be packing my bags and cleaning the house ready for LO's arrival.
Glad to see I'm 13 on the list now (altho isn;t that unlucky hehe)
Only thing I need now to buy is a blanket but they're quite steep aren't they.0 -
Morning baby making ladies
Haven't been able to log on the past few days as painters have still not finished and house is a complete tip! I've been hiding up my mums to get out of the way of the fumes and the general mess!
Still no sign of bambino yet - membrane sweep today at 2.15pm eeeeeeek! I'm bricking it to put it politely! Was up all last night with LO kicking the hell out of my ribcage im soooooooo sore it hurts to cough or lay on my left hand sidelittle !!!!!! hehe x
Got home last night and cleaned all of upstairs on a right mission i was, was hoping that scrubbing the floors in bedrooms and bathroom would bring on labour but no such luck!

Very early morning ladies.
Finally I got some of the starter packs from our Asda today, 8 of them and 8 free packets of Huggies wipes beside the ones in the box. They're the Soft Skin ones with Shea Butter and they smell soooo nice.
Now got over 30 packs of baby wipes lol.
Jenjade. Just wanted to ask, Where are you swapping your nappies?
Another thing I wondered is with regards to BMI. Mine was just over 30 at midwife check in so I was told I wont be allowed a home birth (should I decide that's what I want) However, I now weigh 12kg less than I did back then, so wondered if they'd recalculate it on current weight?
Have any of you ladies had a home birth, and would you recommend it If so?
Sorry for all questions.. X
mines 33 and i can have a home birth again if i wish,
I have had 2 home births and one almost hospital birth i would highly reccomend a home birth it is so much more personal, however it depends on alot of things like your pain threshold, local authorities policy on birthing, gestation (37 weeks is earliest you can have one) and if its your first baby they sometimes complain about doing them because they dont know what will happen, i was refused a home birth for my first but did it anyway, by the time they got there she was born so they had no choice.Thanks. I was told they are stopping doing the tours, and telling you to look online at the pics instead. Grrrr.

also (and i do not recomend thin neither would any medical professional but it works) expressing some milk works, as we all know when breastfeeding it contracts your womb after the baby is born, doing this before will bring on labour, if you do do this DO NOT TELL THEM YOU DID IT.
please please please dont try the drinking olive oil thing, it will make you violently sick and can harm the baby.
well today is running round like a looney day, i need to iron oh's suit, have my tan, sort out a bag for tomorow, tidy the house, find shoes, all before i am suposed to be going out tonight.
getting panicky now,... this time tomorow i will be getting my hair done and by 3pm tomorow i will be a mrs0 -
I am totally going to copy and paste that info re foot massages and send it to my husband! 5 days til my due date and I'm going mad here! I am sure I'll go over so I'm trying not to think about the actual due date too much if that makes sense. I think we're pretty much all sorted now, just got the last of the ironing to do today, and I think I'm going to make my dad a birthday cake this morning, just have to resist eating it myself!! Have a good day everyone.0

Lovecrafting- good luck for tomorrow, it will go fine! I know you'll probably not pop on here again for a bit later, there's always little bits to do. Don't stress over it- and consider buying a dictaphone, lol. (Ah, yes, I know, it was a lovely ceremony, oh thanks, I love the dress too, yes, we're pleased so many made it, I know the meal was so nice, oh it's great, and you're right, he does look handsome)- that will be a constant refrain!
Elmo- good luck with the sweep....0 -
Thanks Lirin - no doubt i will be back on here later in tears .....or in labour lol or both haha!Sealed Pot challenge" member #1342 Online Saver £60.00

Not normally hun. Most people who have later scans are having them for growth purposes. I.e. baby measuring big or small at the midwife's appointment or past large or small babies. I have had 2 at 28 and 32 weeks and I'm having one next week at 36 weeks.
I have to say from an experienced lady who has had 2 overdue babies NOTHING works!!!! You name it I tried it with my 2. DS1's labour started naturally in the end at 12 days over but DS2 was induced at 12 days over. Old wives tales are just that unfortunately - in my view anyway!
Oh and labour vibes to those who are overdue and fed up - I know how it feels so you have my sympathies xxThank you to everyone for sharing competitions!0
