hi all, just had my diabetes clinic at the hospital and feel a bit better. have to test my glucose levels 4 times a day and control my diet, really reducing the sugar and carbs, but should be ok... i hope...
in 2 weeks i go there again for a growth scan and to see how i am doing...0 -
Ok so I've read back and you're a chatty bunch! I can now say I'm crazily craving apple pie with cream but the weather here in Scotland is horrible and windy so can't even get to the shop
Thanks ladies lol.
On the names subject OH & me still haven't found one we love. We did like Alfie but as it's sooooo popular now I don't want to use it and have 50 of them in his class when he's older. We like Preston too but I wish it was a bit cuter for the baby stage - I've looked at what feels like about a million names and still nothings made me go wow that's his name. Maybe I'm just being fussy though??0 -
Oh... sorry to ask this ladies.. (TMI ALERT)
So far i have escaped UTI's ever inc this pregnancy, but am thinking maybe my luck has run out. Today it has felt like i'm desperate for the loo, but only been a trickle when i go (usually fairly plentiful). Not nec indicative of a problem, it might be beans position. But, when i have gone to wipe, and stretched round to reach, i've felt a really sharp pulling pain right down low inside. Could this be an infection, or is it more likely beanie pressure? Anyone else had this pain?
I've bought a carton of cranberry which i am mainlining as we speak so i'll see what happens when i next pee..
I would say its more likely bean pressure than a UTI. Purely because you dont mention pain on peeing, but only when you stretch round to wipe. IF you have pain on peeing then i would definately say UTI.
Ive had a few "twinges" during the last 3 weeks or so which i believe have been the start of a UTI and have successfully got rid of it by drinking shed loads and flushing it out.
Even if you cant shift the UTI by flushing alone, your pee being watered down will ease the irritation when you do go.:jProud mummy to a beautiful baby girl born 22/12/11 :j0 -
Cranberry helps prevent UTI's it won't get rid Kira (I speak from experience, before I got pregnant I had recurrent UTI's probably 4/5 a year)
I'd say if you're going a lot and not much is coming out, there is any pain there while attempting to pee, any sort of low down/kidney pain, either side, it could be a UTI. I would recommend OTC medicines but IIRC you can't use these in pregnancy. Best thing to do would be to get yourself some anti biotics and in the meantime, drink as much water as you can, and last as long as you can before going to toilet, going and failing helps the bacteria to grow. I'd also say no DTD, it may make it worse.
P.s if you've caught it in time, water may flush it "out" so to speak. So drink loads and loads.
On another note, I have a recurring stabbing pain down below, it's not pleasant
I'm not going alot.. not much more than usual, but considering how desperate i feel, there isnt much coming out. Peeing itself doesnt hurt, its when i move to try and wipe afterwards.
Dont worry about not DTD. It is seriously not on the agenda at the moment!
The stabbing pain i've been getting feels different to the pain when i am wiping after peeing...
Lovecrafting- the doctors isnt far, but the m/w only works tuesdays, so not sure who i could take the sample to. Might down the water and see what occurs..
Thx ladies. its a never ending worry game this pregnancy lark!
I guess i'll up my water intake and see if that helps.Married 13/03/10 #1 DD born 13/01/12!!

If no pain while going, and no pain low down or at either side I'd say you're probably okay. Does your Doctors have a clinic with just nurses? Mines does and you can just drop in whenever and wait to be seen and they'd test it there and then for you.
I'd go with a lot of water and see how it goes. The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
Woohoo, my plug finally came out earlier! Didn't think there would be that much of it, had to wipe three times to get rid of it all, looked like a huge thick slimy glob (sorry if TMI).
Just feeling a load of pressure now, don't think my waters are gonna break until the hospital tomorrow :-("Beautiful young people are accidents of nature, But beautiful old people are works of art."
