just peeking in, am 2/3rds of the way through my assignment, 3 hours to get it in!!!
Lirin poor you sounds like one hell of a day at work.
Re ebay. we got all of our baby stuff on there, kitted out the whole nursery, I buy pretty much everything on there
Who was it that was asking about baths, I can still get in and out fine and im measuring big at 37 weeks, dont have spd though. try a dry run getting in and out, atleast then you wont be sitting there in the nuddy in cold water!
Am on constant knicker watch for my show, which is ridiculous as I still have 3 weeks to go that and I need a wee every half an hour! Just poured myself some dandelion and burdock, right no rest for the wicked, best get on, be back on here at 12 for a celebratory cup of tea if anyone will still be awake.

:(Hi Ladies,
Thanks for the kind words earlier.
I'm back from the hospital now and feeling worse and more worried and confused.
I had a scan and an appointment to see the Consultant straight after. The scan seemed to go ok but they still couldn't measure the spine. When the Consultant met with us she said they have concerns about the amount of fluid around baby, apparently I have 6.5cm and 10cm is the norm for this stage of the pregnancy. My baby is also slightly small for 25 weeks but she said this may be because I'm quite small.
My blood pressure had gone down from this morning and wasn't as high, but still elevated.
They tested my urine again which was showing keytones and protein, this had changed since my appointment with the MW. They also did a full blood work and nothing showed up abnormal.
I have to go back on Monday for more blood pressure checks and again on Thursday for another scan so they can measure the fluid again.
I burst into tears when the Consultant said if the levels were still low next week they would start giving me steroid injections in case I deliver early.
All I wanted to know was that they baby would be OK, but they couldn't answer me. So confused now and have been looking on the internet (never a good idea) and some sites say fluid is only classed as low if you have less than 2.5cm.
I called my Mum who has told me not to worry and if they were that concerned they would keep me in hopsital. She also said she had low fluid when she had my brother and she thinks its normal for some women to have less fluid than others. Trying to stay positive, but its hard.
I have been signed off work now and restricted to bed rest and told to drink plenty of fluids. I also have to call the delivery suite if I don't feel baby move as often - so much to worry about.
Sorry for the long post, but I needed to get it off my chest and I know you ladies will understand the worry. I've just heard my husband cry in the shower and it was awful, he acts strong in front of me, but I'm sure he is just as scared.
I hope you are all OK.

hi janninew, i am glad your home, your mum is right hun, they would keep you in if they were overly concerned. try to rest and not to worry too much i know its hard but honestly worrying will just make you feel worse. the steroids are the bast thing for your baby, they will open up babys airways and help his/her lungs to develoup, i am having them at 30 weeks because i will deliver early. please dont worry too much about the steroids baby is really better off with them than without. im rambling on because i really want to try and make you feel better but i really do understand how hard it is.0

ps. give hubby a big hug, tell him how much you love him and have a good cry. he might let some more out but i am sure he will appreciate the jesture.0

Thanks for your post and understanding. I do understand the need for steroids and I know they are taking care of me, its just the thought of delivering this early or god forbid something happening to my baby is really hard to even think about. I'm only 25 weeks gone and know if my baby came early, they wouldn't stand a good chance.:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

hey Jannine- Glad you are home that must be a good sign. listen to the doctors rest and drink plenty. when i had my 3d scan at about 30 weeks the women told me i had the max amount of fluid she said that anything between 3cm and 9 cm is classed as normal and mine was just over 9cm. but i guess that varies dependant on how many weeks you are. Just be patient and take each day as it come!
missymoo well done on the uni work i have done naff all so tomorrow i am going to have to pull my finger out:j Proud mum to Jade age 10 years and Baby Ellie born Christmas Day:eek: with a broke heartProven to be a little fighter and battling on with her heart condition :j

i know exactly what that feels like hun, obviously everyone feels differently but honestly i have been where you are now, my daughter is now eight, eight years ago things were not as advanced as they are now. every day baby stays put is a bonus. i really wish i could give you a hug, or show you my dd1 to put your mind at ease. we managed until 28 weeks with her, i remember thinking she is barley viable what hope does she have, but she made it, it was horrible but she pulled thru. I was in hospital from 25+2 i delivered at 28+1. i couldnt even look at her, i feel so guilty now because of the way i was with her, i didnt bond because i was so afraid of what would happen. it took three months for me to finally see her as a real human being and someone that was going to make it. (omg i just had a little cry for even admitting that)
the bedrest is a good idea because it will help to prevent you delivering early, but if they felt you was at real imediate risk of that they would have kept you in, im not sure how helpfull i am being to be honest but i am trying to just give you some support and show that even babies that are really early can make it.
its so hard not worrying especially about something like this, but right now the best thing you can do is give your body rest.0 -
JannineW hun you poor love. I can only offer you virtual hugs Im afraid. But like lovecrafting has said, your mum is right they would have kept you in if they were worried. Being at home and in bed is the best thing for you. And I know you're worried but babies can survive from 24 weeks hun so why shouldnt yours be one of those numbers if god forbid it should come early, which it wont!! snuggle up with hubby, it helps that you're in this together, try not to keep it all bottled up. One of the ladies previously on this thread Sequeena, had v v low amniotic fluid throughout her pregnancy, even had a a hole in her amniotic sack I think, but her baby went to almost full term and is absolutely fine, so its not all bad. please try and follow doctors orders for bed rest and take care of yourself my love, really feel for you xxx0

hey lovecrafting, Sounds like your little lady was a fighter. It is nice that someone was able to share a positive story. How much did your dd weight when she was born at 28 weeks? are you likely to have difficulties and an early labour this time? Hug to you and Janninie:j Proud mum to Jade age 10 years and Baby Ellie born Christmas Day:eek: with a broke heart
