I wonder how things are going with Karen :j
That's exciting news Eyeliner Princess
Lisa26, sorry to hear that you have had a traumatic start to your pregnancy. We are 1 in 31 risk for Down's, we had a scan which moved us up t 1 in 7, then another scan which put us back to 1 in 31. We decided against an amnio, so with 6 weeks and 3 days to our due date time will tell ....
How far on are you Scarygreen? I have a hard lump just above my belly button on the left which is baby's bottom apparently, and I sometimes get a hard lump over towards the right which is his/her feet. I'm 33+4 so baby is pretty much settled in position now.Yeah, WW, 9 days left.... after today. It's just stressful- I know they have to pay me for antenatal appointments, can't ask to be taken unpaid, etc, etc, but as my work seems to know so little about pregnancy I'm anticipating difficulty when I actually get paid.
I can put up with getting ignored, and I did get an apology for the snippy email- I think, subsequent emails left me extremely confused! It's more the fact that I'm going to have to watch my pay like a hawk in the first few weeks of maternity to ensure I am being paid, and argue with them if I'm not- I can see it happening.
I decided I'll wait and see what happens in the hours today before I go to physio- and that should determine whether HR is necessary.
Oh I know what you mean Lirin. My payroll dept can't seem to get my maternity pay sorted already. I had a letter from them stating I would start maternity pay on Nov 15th despite not starting leave until Nov 28th, the were supposed to send me a new forecast of what my pay would be each month and they didn't so I had to ring again yesterday and ask for it. I also got a letter from them saying I was expected back from maternity leave on Nov 26th this year, so I'm officially due back from maternity leave 2 days before I actually start it. I can't even be bothered to contact them about that one.
I had a phone call this morning saying that I need to fill out an application to reapply for my job due to being restructured, so when I go off work in 3 weeks I'm not going to be able to just enjoy my maternity leave and having a new baby, I'm going to have to re apply and be interviewed for my jobI really hope my interview date isn't just after baby is born as I will likely be a wreck!!

Aimless - I don't get heartburn, but I get terrible indigestion, and it's always worse before I eat. I know they say little and often, but even if I ate an hour before, I get it. How often is often?! :rotfl: So far, I've been living with it, but going to try gaviscon now, as it really is a pain in the butt! Hope you can sort out your heartburn.....
I couldn't work out why my heartburn was a couple of hours after eating, the doc said your stomach contracts as it empties to push things through, unfortunately this was also pushing the acid upwards. No idea if that can cause indigestion though?
Last night's heartburn was much worse than usual though, like I had a huge ball in my chest, and if I leant back even slightly or even twisted round, acid would shoot up from it. I've never had it this bad yet, which is why I'm going to try dropping the iron. If I ate/didn't eat/drank milk/took Gaviscon, nothing seemed to change.
P.s. good luck Kandboys!0 -
hey scarygreen - I'm 26+1 and I tend to get kicks and bumps in different places, and can feel a pressure to touch when the baby is sitting at the front of my tummy. The baby's always moving about and I can even feel the pressure disappear sometimes if I have my hand on it and the baby feels like running off, lol
My lumps/pressure moves around a lot likewise with where the thumps are being felt. Sometimes high, sometimes low etc etc. Hope that helpsTTC #3..........0 -
well done Sandy, what a gorgeous little bundle, glad you are recovering from all the trauma.
Good luck Kandboys, hope it goes well today.
39 weeks today and really thought baby would be here by now, last measure showed little one at almost 10 pounds and being 4 foot 10 and fairly petite i look very odd. Am booked in for some kind of intervention on monday, can't wait!0 -
On a happier note I packed baby's hospital bag this morning. I thought I had loads of clothes for him/her, but it turns out I haven't. I may have to go shopping for more
My bag is half packed as I lost interest in that!
And last night I was lying in bed reading my book with it resting on my bump, every few seconds I would get a kick which would move my book, I think s/he was trying to tell me to stop resting on him/her
It's a cold, miserable, dull day here and I can't be bothered to do anything. I really wish I could motivate myself :eek:0 -
Hey everyone,
I don't think I've posted here before but I did a few times in the 12 - 24 week thread so hi to anyone I don't know (and the names I recognize of course) Hope your all ok including all the bumps
I was 28 weeks yesterday, the days seems to be going so quick now (even with the ongoing sickness, tiredness and heartburn thrown in lol)
I've not been having much luck recently - I never knew what heartburn was until the last few weeks... OMG I feel for people that suffer this without pregnancy! It's horrible but when I went to the chemist to get some liquid a girl there recommende remegel chews for it. So silly me goes and buys them and although they did help the heartburn - they cracked a tooth :O So I had a white filling done 2 days ago - injections in the mouth are not fun
Then I got a letter to say I was anaemic. I kinda guessed something was up because I've felt so exhausted recently. I was prescribed pregaday iron pills and stupidly took my first one yesterday morning before heading to the hospital for my anti - d jabs (yep - rhesus negative too lol) Well I've been on anti sickness pills since early in the pregnancy and though that would help the nausea cause by the iron - WRONG. I was literally 2 mins away from getting off at the hospital when I had to make the driver open the doors when I chucked up at the side of the road!!First time I've thrown up outside and my god it was embarassing. I got to the toilet in the hospital and looked in the mirror and i had mascara and eyeliner all over my face from the tears streaming down from being sick. I'm still traumatised lol. I'm staying in the house for a good few hours after taking my iron today.
Anyway apart from that my little boy has been kicking loads so he seems fineStill no name though! I can't believe I can't find one I love yet. Need to keep searching but it feels like I've looked at millions of them!!
Take care girls xx0 -
WW - you are so organised! I don't even know what to put in my bag! My mothercare trip with bestie who has just had number 2 should allay some of my confusion later I hope.
I've just had a rapid pig-out... Scoffed a handful of jelly babies, 2 halloween mini rolls, 2 crumpets and a pot of trifle in about 12 minutes. Gah. I'm so bad. I am going to turn it into a positive and whizz round the flat doing jobs to make the most of this sugar rush!0 -
Just to let everyone know, Casper Felix was born on 20th October @ 11:37am weighing 7lb 1oz.

Yay RedwoodBrook :j:j:j:j huge congratulations to you both
:D I was really worried it hadn't gone well as we hadn't seen you
This poor baby still has no name either  Well not one we agree on anyway
New fridge arrived :j so now we have a 6ft fridge and a 6ft freezer, plus a fridge freezer for the garagewe did have the FF in the kitchen and just the extra freezer but OH tends to go mad buying reduced joints when he sees them (which makes sense in a way, means he gets a roast every week and we couldn't afford it otherwise) and he also has a love of cheese, our old FF died so he replaced it with the one we have which was smaller in the fridge and I got irate with the lack of space in it coupled with his need to buy loads of cheese  so now he can have the garage to put it all in and we've got enough space in the kitchen for useful things like fruit and veg
Now I've got to go and make the kitchen presentable for the fridge to go in it
It'll still leave a big freezer in the corner of the lounge but we'll move one day lol
I hope Kandbiys is getting mummy cuddles now
My older 3 are driving me nuts today, making so much noise I've really struggled to get Squeak down for her sleep, and then they decided to play hide and seek and run around the house shouting  so I've resorted to Horrid Henry to keep them busy as it's chucking it down so we can't go out.
Does anyone know if you can get really small wellies? I need to get the older 3 some but I'd like to get some for Squeak too so we can go on puddle walks on days like today, I bet they'd love that, and bonus it's free :T
I'll be glad when half term finishes that's for sure.Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

Hi Ladies,
Just a quick post as I'm worried sick and off the hospital. I saw my MW this morning for a 25 week check-up and have extremly high blood pressure (170 over 120). She made me an appointment to go straight to hospital and told me to take an over night bag - I'm worried sick. I don't have any other problems, urine is fine. I'm so scared for my baby.
Will read back later through today's posts and up date when I get chance.:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:
